Superman Returns Review Summary

Reviewers are all over the board with their feelings on Superman Returns in 3D. While some think it's the best Superman movie yet, others think this particular sequel is "a waste of a good movie." Brandon Routh, Kate Bosworth, Kevin Space, and James Marsden star in this Superman sequel that has him returning to Earth to become the big hero once again and to reunite with Lois Lane, which has some reviewers making comparisons between Superman and Christ, and appreciating the writers put in an extended storyline, "rather than trying ot retell the same stories in a different way." However, other reviewers feel as if throughout the Superman Returns, "even the writers and directors could not wait for it to be over." As far as the innovative technology used in this film, of adding it back in after it was already shot in 2D, reviewers were less than impressed.

This movie grows on you.  At first when I saw the movie in the theater I was not that impressed but later I began to see what the movie was really about.  A man sent to earth by is father, raised by humans but yet with a greater mission.  One lone man sent to save the world.  Born of the house of El.  This man is a type of Christ.  There are so many things in this movie that points to God.  Jesus was sent here to be raised by humans and he could be seen as an alien because he was not of this world.  Read the book "The Gospel according to the world's greatest superheroes".  Great book it...

I am not really going to talk about the movie itself much since I don't want to ruin anything for anyone. As much as I was interested in the movie itself, I was also way interested in seeing the highly touted new generation of 3D technology. For anyone who doesn't know, the movie was shot in regular 2D but then 20 minutes of it were converted to 3D. The only real trouble was that it was a little blurry at times, especially when there was a lot of fast motion on the screen. What a waste of a good movie!
Lover of quirky, unique films, not rich, Romance Sap, love chick flicks, into movies that tell a great story, love to travel, character-lover, health conscious

First of all, I love Superman!  I watched all of the movies.  I still watch the cartoons, when I can.  Read most of the comic books - I just love him.  But this movie - please. 

It was a waste of a good movie!  It was almost as if event he writers and directors could not wait for it to be over.  A whole lot of it was lost in traslation.

I wanted something more - I needed something more.  This just was not it!

The best superman movie!

I loved this movie! My son got it for Christmas and since he is 4, I have seen it a dozen times, but it is one of the few movies that I do not mind watching over and over again! I was impressed by the creativity in extending the storyline rather than trying to retell the same stories in a different way. Lots of adventure, love and a few unexpected twists.
