I was wondering all day how my husband was going to wow me for Valentine's Day... he told me he had a great present for me. This is a shocker since my husband doesnt typically recognize the Hallmark Holidays. — But, when I got home there was a big box on the table. To my surprise, he bought me (for you tech and wii folks) wii "DDR" and for the rest of the world-- the Wii dance dance revolution game. sitting down because my feet hurt
Holy crap! There are five of these Dance Dance Revolution games already now and that's just for the Playstation2 alone. There is even one for the GameCube (shameless plug: also see that great review of Viewpoints here too :D) and no one has one of those anymore. Anyway Super Nova here has a brand new list of songs and modes with same old floor crushing game play that makes it look like someone is shooting at our feet. This is my favorite game. I first played it at my neighbors house and it was so much fun. She didn't tell me that I needed to wait until the arrows got to the top before I stepped to them but I easily figured that out (after I kept losing). My legs were so sore the next day so I know it's a great workout. I had played with her for about 2 hours before I noticed what time it was. Yes, time slips away when you are playing this game. I was one of those video game nerds who used to play RPGs into the wee hours of the morning when I was *ahem* supposed to be doing things like sleeping and/or going to school. Ah well. And then Dance Dance Revolution came out. My friends and I visited arcades, played it at parties, and got off of our respective gamer's butts. Good workout and fun with friends too. We played this on my birthday and not only my friends but the parents wanted to play it too. I guess I should told you the parents didn't win but they had a lot of fun trying. I try to get every one of the DDR video games so not stuck with the same one each time we want to do it. I actually bought this video game for myself. I thought it would be a fun way to get a workout, and it really is. I literally work up a sweat playing this game! I have to fight my kids to get out of my way because they want to play. It's got a pretty good selection of songs to choose from and has the ability to go faster than my feet can move. Dance Dance Revolution SuperNova has an interesting new concept for unlocking new songs. You visit different dance clubs on various "planets" and complete a number of challenges. The challenges vary, some are easy, some are very, very difficult. While the good news is that you don't have to complete ALL of the challenges to visit different planets, if you want to unlock songs, you do need to eventually do all of the challenges, some of which require elite level skills. I played this game at a friends house. Their kids had it and I thought what a great way to excercise, and not even know it. I went the next day and bought it. — Totally simple, has beginner to expert so anyone can play. I absoulty hate to excercise, but with Dance Dance Revolution, it's fun. I have to limit myself to an hour and a half, or I would spend my whole afternoon working out. — It does have a workout mode on it, but unless you are an expert at it, you can't keep up.
