I was wondering all day how my husband was going to wow me for Valentine's Day... he told me he had a great present for me. This is a shocker since my husband doesnt typically recognize the Hallmark Holidays.

But, when I got home there was a big box on the table. To my surprise, he bought me (for you tech and wii folks) wii "DDR" and for the rest of the world-- the Wii dance dance revolution game. Honestly, I'm not certain if it were for him or me, but regardless, we busted it out and had a blast.

We played this dancing wii game (or workout game) for about 2 hours. Bottom line: IT IS HARD WORK. On every game, I got a D, F, and one time, I even got an "E". WOW-- is that even a grade? And, I am an okay dancer. It's just hard and very exact.

Basically, you have to move your arms, move your feet, hop, jump, slide, stomp, and boogie all to the beat of music. If you miss a step, you are told instantly. If you get it right, you get applause. And, in some cases (like my F incident), I nearly got Booed from the stage! The game is pretty sensitive so you have to get the step at the perfect time. HARD.

As for the workout component, I definitely felt a little winded pretty instantly and I was only on basic mode. (there is beginner mode-- I went straight to basic.) I am a little sore today but not terribly.

My husband was smart to buy me DDR. He really wants me to game with him and I am not a natural gaming person. However, DDR is fun, entertaining and had me laughing at myself and my score the whole time!

Nice review from a wife's perspective which I loved because I was thinking of buying this for my wife as well.

My daughter talked me into trying this out at the gym. We usually score poorly but we laugh a lot & it does get our heart rates up. Thanks for sharing your unique Valentine story.

Great Review of DDR for the Wii. I had a version of this game for the PS2 but I never left beginner's mode. It was a lot of fun though! Maybe I will have to try the Wii version.

Sounds like fun. One of these days I'll have to enter 2008! Jo

We have a different version that is just plug and play for the tv with old crappy songs.
I should go check out the Wii version.
It is a lot of fun and a good workout!

This actually sounds pretty fun. Of course I would need the excuse of having a kid in the house to buy this and use it. Haha.

Well...when I don't have a date for Saturday nite, I now know what to do.

I would get booed off the stage and probably out the house...lol Sounds like a load of fun though as long as your knees could take it ;) Ron
