Nintendo has done it again in this game as Mario explores the universe in 3d and a great soundtrack. Your screen comes to life via the Wii console and Super Mario Galaxy. This is a 1 or 2 player game filled with many galaxies that you must explore and conquer to gain the ultimate goal, rescuing Princess Peach. — —     Game Play — —      You start off in the Mushroom Kingdom as Bowser is attacking the castle and kidnapping Princess Peach. After a short walk and dodging his attacking army, the Princess is whisked… read full review »

It's been a long time coming but Nintendo finally released another fully 3D Super Mario right here on their insanely popular Wii console. Now you would think Nintendo could never screw up the Mario franchise but a lot fans were kind of disappointed with the 2002 release Super Mario Sunshine for the GameCube. If there was ever going to be a new game in the series it would have to be something special really special. So here is the highly anticipated Super Mario Galaxy and it comes complete with a cool new sphere gimmick and some fancy Wii-mote support of course. Is this… read full review »

We are a two adult, no children household. We look for Wii games that are suitable for many players (we like to have friends over to play), and that are very engaging, and fun. We don't like war/shooter games or games that are too juvenile. We also try to find games that are structured around the unique Wii experience. (Ie, we don't buy racing games and others that require you to use the Wiimote like a traditional controller--we'd use a traditional system for that!)I will caveat my review by saying that I haven't played a traditional (Mario saves the Princess) Mario game since Super Nintendo… read full review »

Ever since we unwrapped this game at Christmas, it is now clearly our favorite game on the Wii.  Let me preface this review by saying that this game was reviewed and played by my 8 year old son, 6 year old daughter, and myself. — The first thing we immediately noticed was how well the game teaches you how to move and play the game.  Each level builds upon the last and by the time you get 10 power stars you feel confident and fully immersed in the game.  — Second, the two player mode is really ingenious and really encourages teamwork.  My 6 year old… read full review »

Mario is back! Super Mario Galaxy for the Nintendo Wii is the most fun game I have ever played and gets better the deeper you get in the game. Like other Mario titles, there is enough fun to last you countless hours, yet to beat the game, one doesn't have to complete every goal in the game. —     Galaxy does a fabulous job in combining the old with the new.  A lot of old friends and foes make their way back into the storyline, but just as many new characters are introduced, as well.  In the game, Mario finds himself in outer space trying… read full review »

I'm a mom and I really do not like violent kill'em shoot'em games....so I'm happy that this one is okay for kids. My five year old has difficulty with it, but I'm pretty good. I'm frustrated right now because I can kill the big spider that pukes green stuff on me.  It is addicing...I think it is overall a great game, and it looks like you will be able to play it a long time, but man I hate the Wii games cost so darn… read full review »

Super Mario Galaxy is another classic Mario game that will give you hours of entertainment and it is something that the whole family can watch and play.  It has the traditional Mario story line where he is on a mission to save the princess and the whole galaxy.  But the views on this Mario game are quite different than any other I have experienced.  —      Sometimes the camera angles are not the best.  The first time I played this game I had to turn it off for awhile because I got a little dizzy trying to figure out where… read full review »

Super Mario Galaxy certainly is a great leap forward in gaming. It brought back to life the slowly dying platform genre, and did it in an incredibly new way with the space and gravity mechanics of the game. The game plays out the same way as previous 3D Mario outings, in which you are out to save the Princess Peach and defeat Bowser, with the ultimate goal of collecting 120 stars throughout the different levels. The central hub contains multiples Domes, each with typically 4-5 galaxies (or levels) inside, which open to the player the more stars you collect in each galaxy. This sounds… read full review »

So the first truly new Mario since Super Mario 64 and it doesn't fail to impress. The visuals are absolutely stunning, and the game play is virtually flawless. The wii remote controls work very well and don't feel like there just added in to make it look motion sensitive. The main story, about Mario defeating bowser can be beat in about 15 playing hours. For those that want a true challenge, there are 120 "stars" around the many galaxies to collect, and that will take you quite a while. The thing that is the best about this game is that novice  and young players can enjoy it as the… read full review »

This game has received a lot of hype, and it's mostly deserved.  The mechanics feel great, the Wii-mote sections of the game flow naturally and don't feel forced, and the level variety is incredible. —  There are a good twenty hours of gameplay for those who get all the stars, and around thirty to forty for completists.  While the moves and gameplay bring Mario 64 to mind, the level structure is much more linear, so the overall feeling is a mashup of SMB3 and Mario 64, which is not a bad thing at all. —  The only weaknesses are the small size of the hub world,… read full review »

Although it might not hit the casual market as nicely, I feel that any Wii owner who knows how to use the nunchuck should own Mario Galaxy. — — For anyone who has played Mario 64 or Mario Sunshine, you should be very familiar with how the game controls.  The general point of the game is that you'll be skillfully running, jumping, spinning, and soaring across numerous planets ranging from scenic forest worlds to spaceship fortresses.  You'll be completing puzzles, exploring worlds, and searching for elusive golden stars in order to rescue Princess Peach from the clutches… read full review »

Super Mario Galaxy is easily the best game to come out on the Wii to date. The level are varied and never get old. I loved going after all the stars. Some of the levels are quite easy, but as you move up the get progressively harder. To where to get all 120 stars you really have to have mastered alot of the skills you learn over the levels. — Some people have said this game is to easy. I found it easy if you want to just get the first 60 some stars and beat the game, but if you want to master it, it really takes to challangeing a person. — This is a great game to play for the whole… read full review »

I found this game visually amazing.  As you play through space they convey that environment extremely well.  Mario is surrounded by stars, soars through space, and runs around on planets trying to avoid falling off into black holes.  The different planets and environments in the Galaxies are impressive in their creativity and uniqueness from each other.  In one you slip inside a giant glass pill-shaped world and deal with changing gravity within it to get to where you need to go.  In another area you're fighting across ships.  It keeps things… read full review »

Super Mario Galaxy combines a great adventure with fantastic graphics to make a wonderful game, but don't expect to turn it on and sail through the game!  You actually have to (gasp!) use your mind and think about what you're doing.  While this might not be true for serious gamers, for someone like me who generally plays video games that are very easy and follow a point A to point B scheme, its difficult!  — The camera angles can make things confusing and hard to figure out.  Sometimes I even feel dizzy or motion sick from them. —  I would… read full review »
