So the first truly new Mario since Super Mario 64 and it doesn't fail to impress. The visuals are absolutely stunning, and the game play is virtually flawless. The wii remote controls work very well and don't feel like there just added in to make it look motion sensitive. The main story, about Mario defeating bowser can be beat in about 15 playing hours. For those that want a true challenge, there are 120 "stars" around the many galaxies to collect, and that will take you quite a while. The thing that is the best about this game is that novice and young players can enjoy it as the difficulty for the main quest ramps up nicely, allowing you to get used the game-play mechanics. And the true gamers will enjoy the almost insane difficulty of the side quests to get the 120 stars.
The only bad things with the game are easy to overcome. First, the co-op mode will bore the 2nd player very easily, unless it is a young child. You simply control a yellow star that helps Mario pick-up "star bits" the currency of the game. And secondly, the camera does have a mind of it's own sometimes, but most players of other 3-D plat-formers will be used to it, and it is never really a huge problem, just more of a small annoyance.
This is a definite must own game though for all you Wii owners both young and old.
