I like having the option of gaining points with my check card, as long as I use it as a credit card and sign for it.  That doesn't bother me, I know they make money by having that rule.  I would like to see a higher return rate.  I think by the time I can get a $15 gift card, I have spent  $8000 dollars since it is 1 point for every $4 I put on the card.  But I usually just let the points build up and then see what I can get since I am going to use the card anyway.  I do have other point cards that I use for higher priced things, and they have a better return rate.

The Suntrust credit card has a basically good card.  It is excepted everywhere and I have a good interest rate.  When you use the checks they send that is when you can get into trouble.  It has a different interest rate and there is a charge for using them.  Also the amount of credit that the statement says you have is miss leading, because it does not include the finance charge.  So if you are close to maxing out your card you will need to figure out about how much the finance charge is deduct that from your available credit.  If you go over you limit because of the finance charge the charge you over the limit fees and it can raise you interest rate.  The other things about this card is that the cash back can not be applied to your bill.  They send you a check which I would quess most people spend instead of using it to lower your bill.  If you are careful none of this should apply and therefore it is a good deal.

 My SunTrust Visa credit card is great! It is so easy to rack up reward points. I just use my visa card to pay for all my purchases. I use it to buy my gas (you never know how much  it will cost to fill up your tank each time). I charge my groceries every week. I plan on using my rewards to help pay for Christmas and to get gift cards for my family. By leaving my reward points alone through out the year, I am able to really increase the amount of my rewards. Try this card, I think you will be happy that you did.
