I purchased this the Sunshine Kids Radian80 after doing a lot of comparison shopping and reading Consumer Reports. This car seat got a very high rating. One of the things I love about this seat are the low sides, which allow me to put my toddler into the seat without twisting and straining, unlike my other car seat. The Radian80 is also very easy to install. The latch clips are more like car seat buckles that safety hooks- you just push them onto the latch and you are done. Removal is a breeze too- simply push the red release button and pull!
The Radian80 is a bit on the pricey side, but the safety of my child is well worth the money. The car seat is very sturdy, folds easily for travel (I've used it on an airplane), and the padding comes off easily for cleaning. The fabric they use for the padding/cover is a very soft, velvety fabric that cleans right up in the washing machine (air dry though). My only wish was that it had a cup holder, so I bought a different brand that had a cup holder. I quickly went back to the Radian80. My son is much more comfortable and this car seat is so easy to use, that we can do without cup holders for now!
This car seat can be used rear facing up to 30 lbs and forward facing up to 80 lbs. In other words, this should cover your child from birth to graduating to seatbelts! No more buying another car seat!
