We had been using a Britax Marathon for over a year for my two year old son.  I assumed we would buy another when we had our second child.  Then surprise - we found out we were having twins!  After measuring and finding that three Marathons would not fit in the backseat of our Ford Escape I thought... review »

I got the Sunshine Radian carseat due to the fact that I have 3 children under 6 years old. I needed to fit 3 car seats in the back of a Volkswagen Passat. I did my calculations and since I already had the Alpha Omega and a Graco booster, I needed the narrowest car seat possible. At the time I read a...

We originally bought these car seats because we had twin boys and were going to be living in Europe where the cars a much smaller. We loved the fact that they were compact, but also will support up to 80 lbs which means we should never have to buy another car seat for our boys.  The down side is that they are heavy, but that always makes me feel better too.  Really great, compact car seat!! Would highly recommend them!

The Sunshine Kids Radian 65 is a great carseat for people who need to fit three carseats across in a back seat.  It's also great because a child can remain harnassed in it, which is much safer than just buckled with a seatbelt, up to 65 pounds.  I believe you can also keep your child rear facing, which is even safer, up to 35 pounds.

It is advertised as good for traveling because it folds up, but I would not use it for this, because the same stainless steel frame that seems to add some safety, also adds a LOT of weight. It is a very heavy carseat.

I received this Radian 65 car seat as a gift from a friend at church. The friend works for the CHP and they had given these car seats out during a special safety class. They had extras so he grabbed one and gave it to me for my first daughter. At first I was leary because it was free. I thought nothing good is ever free. After looking up the Sunshine Kids brand and safety reviews/information I was pleasantly suprised. Still, I insisted that my husband buy our daughter a Britax car seat to use as the seat in our main car. Before long I found myself using the Radian car seat all the time and the...

We purchased the Radian 65 in the Champagne color based on it's perfect rating on healthycar.org.  Most car seats contain horrible, horrible chemicals like lead, Bromine and Chlorine.  The Radian was the only seat tested in 2008 that had none of the listed chemicals, nor any of the other trace chemicals that are included in the testing.  A great start.  On top of that, the seat boasts an all-aluminum frame that makes it quite a beast to carry around, but it's as solid as you could ever hope for.  It does come with a built-in harness to strap the whole thing to your back if you need to transport,...

I bought the Sunshine Kids Radian 65 from Target.com when my then-four-year-old outgrew his toddler seat. I wanted a seat that allowed him to stay in a five-point-harness for a longer period of time. I love that the seat is slender and fits a high weight limit of 65 lbs. My son is now 5 1/2, and for the most part fits in the seat ok. He is around 45 lbs now.

My husband said the seat was easy to install, and it fit nicely in our 2000 Toyota Sienna. The things I do not like about the seat, include the cover. The top of the cover seems to fall off and doesn't stay in place, exposing the foam. Also,...

We bought this seat when our daughter was 15 mo old - we still face is rear facing due to the higher safety factor.  So far, I like the seat - it is sturdy - we've travelled by air with it (and got the "Traveling Toddler Car Seat Travel Accessory" - a must have if you plan to carry this heavy seat with you through an airport).  Here are the pros and cons from my side:

Pros:  Sturdy and safe frame, Easy to install with LATCH or belt, Compact design for forward facing, Seats folds for easy travel and storage, higher weight limit than most 40lb seats

Cons: At 20 lbs my daughter was slouching...

This is a great seat.  It isn't as wide as the Britax models so it fits nicely in sedans.  It is a lot heavier than most seats, but it folds up nicely for travelling.  You can also carry it as a backpack, if you don't mind the heaviness.  It is also FAA approved for airline travel.  My almost 5 year old daughter loves her "big girl" seat!
