I got tired of keeping our hoses on the wall assemblies that we had in the front and back for a few reasons. For one, it was hard to get them on there and for another there were always spiders gathering there! Yuck!
We bought the Suncast Corporation Hosemobile Assembled Hose Reel Cart for the backyard and then shortly after went back to get one for the front yard because it worked well. As you can see in the picture, the Hosemobile let's you roll up your entire hose onto it. Then, a small hose connector let's you plug it into the wall. When you're done with the hose for the winter, just disconnect the hose connector and wheel the whole thing into the garage.
The two wheels allow you to move the whole cart around easily, but this does cause it to be a bit annoying when you just want it to stay put. Sometimes when I'm pulling the hose the whole cart will move if I got caught on something. This is because the cart is very light weight and has nothing to hold it down. It stays fine and manages to stay put even with wind and storms, but just a little tug can make it move or fall over. But since I know this is how works, I've learned to work around the problem.
I've seen other similar carts that have a hose guide on it. That would probably help because sometimes when I am rolling up the hose, it doesn't stay even and has to be manually straightened out. A hose guide would be nice to help roll it up easier.
Overall, for only around $25 I found this to work great for us. I know they have fancier ones with more features, or even ones that hide your hose completely. We don't need all of that! All we needed was an easier way to roll up the hose and an easy way to store it in the winter. This solves both problems and I'll keep them until they break.
