I have a basement apartment so an air conditioner is not really necessary but a fan to stir the air is sufficient. This fan can be adjusted to fit a window and even lock in so it doesn't fall out if you open the sash. It can be adjusted to low , med or high and can be used to bring air in or pull air out. It's light weight, has enough cord and so far has been enough even for 95 degree days. It is energy efficient. The only problem I have is that it is LOUD. It doesn't hum or buzz but it has a loud wind sound. If I am in bed I have to turn my television way up just to hear.Probably wouldn't be as much of an issue if the window wasn't right over the bed. Take that into account. The openings are very small so little fingers would be safe. I am NOT an affiliate of the brand but inadvertently clicked it and it won't let me undo.

Even if you have an air conditioner, there are days when it isn't hot enough to run it all the time and that's when a window fan like this can come in handy. I have had several different twin fan window units like this in the past but this Sunbeam was the most dependable for all-day use. There is a reversible option that allows you to pull in cool air from outside or to use as an exhaust to pull hot air out of a room. There's no need to remove the fan and flip it around like you would have to do with a box fan so it is much safer to have in the window. You do need to power off the fan before you switch the rotation of the blades, that is going to help save the motor and give you a lot more use from it. This doesn't make a lot of noise while it is running but you do need to make sure that it is properly secured in the window so it doesn't rattle or shake. There are power settings that you can pick to allow for the best air flow in or out of the window and the control buttons are easy to read. The only downside is that cleaning the vents takes a lot of time and if you are a smoker and are using this as an exhaust you are going to want to take the time to clean it every month or it will start to smell. I used to use cheap cotton swabs to clean out the vents on the front and back of the fan and that took about twenty minutes. Now I use thick paper towels and it does about the same amount of cleaning on the vents and that process is a little easier but it isn't saving me any time. I don't mind doing it because I know that when I have it pulling in fresh air I am getting something that's 'clean' and not loaded with dust or dirt.

This fan is FANtastic! Really keeps the air circulating & keeps it very cool. It also works very fast from the time you turn it on until it starts decreasing the temperature. Air Flow Exceptional! It works wonders cooling down a room in seconds. Ease of Use It's so easy to use & to place in a window. I use a window that opens side-to-side & so I flip the fan vertically. It works great. Durability I can't tell you how many times I have dropped this fan, it still works great & nothing has loosened. Design The design is great because it fits into almost any window. I'd be very surprised if you had any issue using this fan.

I like fresh air. Although we have a nice large window mount air conditioner, it became frustrating when the weather was not hot because that window would not have any fresh air coming in. We decided to try a twin window fan and since that time, we have collected them for almost every window in the house! One of the nice twin window fans is the Sunbeam Twin Window fan. It has two wings that pull out, one of which is extra long to fit larger windows. Each fan works independently so you can pull in air or exhaust air out of the room at the same time, or each one can work as an exchange - with one pulling in and one pushing out air. The fan itself has a ridge on top which allows for double hung windows to put one on top of the ridge and the other in front, holding the fan in securely so it does not buzz or rattle. There are electronic controls with an LED readout and a thermostat which makes the fan turn off when it gets too cold out for the setting. Air Flow This fan can cool off a large dining room kitchen in a half hour if it is very very hot all day and it is cooling off at night. It also can empty a kitchen of smoke from burning something accidentally in about 15 to 20 minutes. Ease of Use This fan is quite easy to use. The settings are easy to program by pressing buttons and the temperature is always visible so you can see what you are dealing with. The plug is not overly long, which in some windows causes us to need an extension cord. I would prefer to have a longer cord with a wrap so you can keep it from being too easily caught in short spaces. Durability So far we have had this fan two years and it is working well. It has been through electrical storms, power failures, and very cold sudden weather, and it still works beautifully and is quiet. Design Very nice design- I just wish the side wings were a bit easier to use and lock into place.

I purchased this Sunbeam twin Window fan SWF4300 about two weeks ago. It arrived ahead of the estimated arrival time. I ordered it becuase I have a roommate who smokes and often does so in my basement. There is no airflow or circulation. The air was terrible. I purchased the fan to remove the bad air and circulate fresh air. It does that. The fan is quiet. It whirs on the high settings, but no so much as to be annoying. What I really like is that it has dual fans and the direction of each fan can be controlled individually. One thing to keep in mind though. Its not a house fan. Its a small to normal size room fan. Don't think that you'll be able use this fan to circulate air throughout your entire house. Other than that, it a good fan.  The price is nice on it too, and finding a great deal on this, you could be getting a real bargain.  It is also nice because it is not extremely boxy or bulky like the typical window fan.

First of all, I am writing this review while the breeze from this very fan is playing across my feet.  Secondly, I do not know what I would do without this fan.  It is a perfect fit in my windows.  I love the adjustable side wings (I do not know what else to call them) that ensure a good fit no matter the width of the window.   Compared to other fans, I think the noise level is acceptable.  Not too loud or obnoxious.  In fact, it has a nice soft sound to the motor; it is definitely not a harsh sound!  So, I like the sound level a lot. It seems to be pretty strong as well.  The breeze it generates can easily cool off a room, and it is not too expensive to use, either.  On summer nights, it is much more cost effective to use this baby than air conditioning!! I have not had it for long, so I will have to see how it works in the long-term, but for right now, it is nice and perfect for me and what I need!! You won't be disappointed, either!

I bought the Sunbeam twin window fan last summer. It has been phenomenal - much better than the cheaper model I have in another room. If you want, you can set it to have one side blow in (fan) and one side blow out (exhaust). Or, have both sides set the same - fan or exhaust. My other window fan doesn't have this feature and we have to remove it from the window and turn it around to change the direction. As most window fans, this fan has an accordion-like extender tab to make it fit in the window and hold it in place. And it has this great feature called 1-touch thermostat. This feature will automatically turn the fan on or off depending on the temperature you set it to. For example, set the thermostat to 75 degrees and you fan will run until the set temperature is reached, and then shut off. Once the temperature rises above the set temperature, the fan will automatically turn on again to reach the desired temperature.  The fan comes with a 3-year limited warranty, which is a nice gesture but probably doesn't cover much. This Sunbeam twin window fan has held up well in the year we've had it, and I would highly recommend it.
