A good basic iron at an affordable price but not great

3

If you are going to iron once in a while, or just one outfit a day, this is perfect. It is after all, good, durable basic iron that does all the basic tasks competently. The iron has a temperature selection dial, a water receptacle and a steam button. It's neither so big and heavy that you have a hard time lifting it or raising it, nor so light and compact that you're grunting and groaning trying to exert enough pressure to erase stubborn wrinkles. The iron is definitely on the lighter side, but not as light as a travel iron. It's great if you have an injury or if you dislike ironing, because it makes the process less cumbersome. However, it really isn't good for ironing something like a coat, or a thick suit. Even with the steam feature, the wrinkles remain because the iron simply isn't heavy enough to stamp them out. The steam is very useful, but there is no way to clean the inside of the steam compartment, so invariably, over time calcium deposits accumulate, making it yucky to contemplate and pretty bad even to look at.

Great product

I had this product for about a year and worked great. The best thing was the cord. I liked that automatic cord option because it was easy to use and put away. After having it for a while I dropped it a few times and it eventually broke. I tried looking for it at the retail stores but have not been able to find it. When I originally purchased it it was very affordable and very basic and the heating options were really good also. So I ended up purchasing another one but this product was really good and if I were to find it again I would buy it. I also would travel with it a lot and the cord option was very helpful because it wouldn't get tangled and it really did fit anywhere. It's also is not bulky and heavy which is really good it's not like the all metal kind that are very heavy this one is really light. I recommend this product to anyone. Design It's very nice and classic and simple and not heavy at all which makes it an attractive product.

For the Price, a Solid Iron

4

This iron was a gift, so I didn't do the pre-shopping homework I usually do. It was a housewarming gift from someone who doesn't usually buy just anything, so I was pretty confident it would be a good product. Overall, it is. It certainly has all of the features I like, with good temperature control (very important!!), an even steam mist, and a smooth face. I absolutely love the automatic shut off, too. I have never left an iron on, but I have always been a little paranoid about it happening. Now, when my older kids iron, I don't find myself panicking and double checking that it's off, because of the automatic feature. Great 'peace of mind' safety feature! This product has some minor flaws, though. The base is a little unstable, so, when you are setting it down, you have to make sure that it's solid, or it is liable to tumble over. Also, the water reservoir seems to leak a little. Not enough to cause a problem, though, so it doesn't really bother me, but it might bother someone else. My usage is fairly normal. . .shirts and slacks and skirts, with an occasional table cloth and light curtain thrown in. I am not sure how it would fare against heavier fabrics, but it certainly seems to have the heat capabilities to do it. Overall, a solid iron for the price.

Great quality for the price.

My family doesn't use an iron on a daily basis but for weekly touch ups this iron does the trick. we've had it 2 years and it still works like new. My only issue is sometimes me forgetting to let it heat up and then cold water drips onto my garment. The steams option works great and i haven't burned any fabrics yet. Its heats up rather quickly in about 5mins. Performance The steams option is generous and removes wrinkles quickly. Safety Any iron is hot but with simple procedures its relatively safe. Ease of Cleaning Easy to use and cleans well. Ease of Use Very easy buttons and options to understand. Reccomend for novices. Durability lasted me up to 2 yrs+ Design Nice sleek, pastel blue accents.

Great durable iron

I have had this iron for 10 years. It was given as a wedding gift. It works the same today as it did when we first received it. Automatic shut off is my favorite feature of it. It steams the clothing well. I have never had a problem with it. It has a retractable cord that is great for storage.

The "auto shut-off" isn't what it says it is

At first I thought that the auto shut-off feature would be great. I could avoid accidents and keep an overall safer environment in my home. The only problem is, the thing has no idea when to shut off. It's shut off before WHILE I was ironing, which is incredibly annoying and makes it completely useless. Safety Good in an ironic way

Great for the price

Our Sunbeam iron was an affordable purchase and I expect that it will continue to last us for years. The iron we had before this was more expensive (I don't remember the brand), but it didn't really work any better. I think this is a pretty simple technology, and Sunbeam's got it. Once in a while it lets out too much water at the steam button and you have to hold the iron down for a few extra seconds to evaporate it, but that's not something I mind and I've never found an iron that doesn't do that. Overall, I'm pleased with the product.

We had this sunbeam for only a year.

it worked great when we first bought it, but then one day it just stopped working. The heating element just broke and we had to buy a new one. it worked great and all for the time frame we had it but didn't last us very long.

A Sunbeam for your linens!

I love, love, love this iron! It has a setting for all fabrics and auto shut off! How can you beat that? I have had a few time I have gotten distracted and ruined a blouse or ironing board cover from leaving the iron on. Since this little miracle, I haven't had this misfortune! It gets all the wrinkles out so easily. Its a very effecient iron and I recommend this item to anyone who uses one. And I loved the price. All in all, this is a great value buy, and I would buy it again. (If I needed one.) Safety With the auto shut off this is one of the safest features available!

Great iron for the price!

This iron has everything I wanted in an iron. I love to have automatic shut off on something like this, so that way I don't worry that I might have left it on! Also, the steam- I have to iron, steam speeds up the process, which makes it even easier! The non stick sole plate is great, I have had no issues with it at all. I also love that it has the built in sprayer for those tougher wrinkles that just don't want to go! This is a great iron, the only design flaw (in my opinion) is where the dial for the settings are. It is underneath the handle, which isn't always easy to get to, and sometimes I accidentally bump it while ironing. It is a great price for the features it comes with, easy to use, with the auto shut off feature I feel it's safer, and as I said, I love the steam and water spray to help speed things along. Overall, I would give this a 9 out of 10, it loses a point for where the dial is situated. I wouldn't let the dial stop you from buying it though, it is just a minor inconvenience!
