We live in a drafty old house and I am a cold-natured person. Therefore I always dread winter, or even autumn, when the overnight temps start to drop. For years I had an electric blanket on my bed but it never seemed to regulate my temperature very well. I would get in freezing cold but by a couple of hours later I would wake up sweating and kicking the blanket off, even on low setting. Then I happened across a review on an electric blanket that mentioned a heated mattress pad, which I had never heard of. I bought one and, WOW, what a huge difference! I use it with a down comforter. Just before bed I put it on preheat. When I'm in bed reading I bump it a couple of times to keep it on preheat. When I turn off the lights it has gone over to low setting and the combination of that and the comforter keeps me warm but no overheated all night long. I will never buy another electric blanket (for the bed) again!

After a friend told me about her heated mattress pad, I decided to give up the electric blanket and I am so glad that I did. I love the warm coziness of the SlumberRest Quilted Mattress Pad. We bought the queen size which has the dual controls and allows us each to select the warmth level that we would like. It offers 10 settings but I have not gone about the 3 setting and wonder why I would ever want it warmer. I do appreciate the backlit digital display as it is easy to see and adjust at night. The pad itself is plush filled and feels nice and smooth. I Love not having to stretch the corners to make it fit. The 24 inch deep pad allows the pad to fit most mattresses. Instructions say machine wash and dry and the 250 threat count should make it last. And for those that forget to turn the pad off, it has a Thermo-fine warming system that senses and adjust to deliver consistent warmth and should you forget to turn it off, the automatic shut off will happen after 10 hours. Great if you are in a hurry and then not sure if you turned it off. The pads comes in full, queen, and king sizes and the dual controls are not available on the twin size. We find we are able to turn back the thermostat and hope by doing so to save energy.

I first experienced a heated mattress pad in New Zealand, while staying in a condo there. Oh my goodness, that was the most luxurious feeling ever! Much better than Turkish towels or anything like that! I now look forward to winter every year, just to be able to get the heated mattress pad out, and put it on my bed! It has dual side controls, which is perfect, since my husband is definitely the "sweats in his sleep" type, and I am the frozen-toes type! It has automatic shut off after 10 or 12 hours, I can't remember, but certainly an appropriate time! I has multiple settings, for slightly warm to jaccuzi tub hot. Controls are lit, so easy to see at night. Everything is labelled, so won't mess up his and her side of the bed, as long as you are paying attention to the labels. I can't begin to express the intense feeling of comfort and well-being, when sliding from a relatively cool room, under the covers, to the warm, soft bed. Ahhhhhhhh.... If you live anywhere where the night temps get below 50 degrees at naught, you should get one of these. We have actually been very comfortable even during one night when the furnace broke, and the outside temps were in the mid 30's!

This was the best purchase I have ever made for the bed and comfort. After some searching, I found this one for around the same as a electric blanket and I am more satisfied. I sure wish I would have tried sooner. I would would surely recommend this to friends and family. I may even get some for gifts.

The Sunbeam Slumber Rest premium heated mattress is like having a giant heating pad that covers your entire body, easing aches and pains and giving you warm relief and comfort . I am a person who is chronically cold , I suffer from poor circulation and have arthritis in several joints after a few bad breaks and this is a godsend . It fits smoothly under the sheets so , unlike an electric blanket , there is no rumpling and wrinkling , with all the tossing and turning I do . It stays put and that is a plus . It warms the bed quickly , has dual controls ( although that is not something I personally need ) , and saves on heating costs in the winter . It is cold where I live in New England so I use this about 5 or 6 months of the year and keep my heat lower at night . It is pricy but is on sale at the end of a season - I love mine !

We bought our heated mattress pad when my husband was going to school in Iowa. Those winters were colder and more penetrating than any winters we had experienced in college in Utah. Our electric blanket was great, but just not cutting it. So we tried a heated mattress pad. I can comfortably now say we are hooked. The heated mattress pad is fantastic. It has dual controls so my husband (who likes it much cooler in bed than I do) and I can each control our own half of the bed. We love to turn it on while we get ready for bed, brushing our teeth and such, so that the bed is warm and inviting when we finally crawl into it. The only thing I can think of to change on the mattress pad is the length of the coils. The heating coils end about 18" from the end of the bed, leaving our toes to fend for themselves. I imagine they had some reason for making it like this, but my toes wish the heat extended all the way to the end of the bed.

My husband worked the night shift for 23 years.  We celebrated when he was able to finally move to dayshift.  Joy!  We could finally sleep in the same bed every night!  Hey!  Wait a minute, he's hogging the bed; he snores; I want a heavy quilt while he wants a light sheet!  He's hot, while I'm freezing.  There's no way we were both going to be happy in the same bed.  Enter my Sunbeam heated mattress pad for our queen sized bed.  This mattress pad fits over the mattress, like a standard mattress pad, but at the foot of the mattress pad are two connections to plug in the included electric cords that run from the foot to the 2 remote controls (one control for each side of the mattress pad).  Each side has its own control and thus its own level of heat, depending on which setting you dial in.  Now my husband and I can both have the level of heat we desire.  I turn on my side of the mattress pad before getting into bed and I always crawl into a nice comfy bed that is pre-warmed for me.  The pad has more heat at the feet (presumably where you are colder) and less heat at the top. Great product!

As someone who is frequently hot, married to someone who is ALWAYS cold, this was a necessity at our house.   The mattress pad far surpasses the electric blankets because unlike the blankets, it stays in place all evening, no matter how much tossing and turning you do.  No more waking up with your partners smoldering hot blanket that they've kicked off (because they got too hot) on top of you.    The dual controls allow her to crank up her side while leaving mine on very low or even off completely early in the year.  It's also nice because you can turn it on (like the blankets) about ten to fifteen minutes before bed, and it's nice and toasty when you get in. Another great feature is that it shuts itself off after just 10 hours, so no worries if you forget to turn it off before you leave the house for the day.   We got ours during a great sale, but I understand they can be a bit expensive. We've had ours now for nearly three years and it still works great, so I'd say it's worth the price.

Sunbeam Slumber Rest Premium Heated Mattress Pad is my bed room essential. I bought this product on sale on a whim and will never go without it again!  I am used to a dual control electric blanket --- this mattress pad far surpasses those old electric blankets! It fits over your mattress but under your sheets and has dual controls just like a large electric blanket. You can't really feel the wires underneath and even in the few spots were you can, you get used to them really quickly.  The dual control allows my spouse, who is never as cold as I am, and me to select our own comfort levels. It shuts off automatically after 10 hours which is a great feature as I frequent forget to turn it off in the morning. no worries about leaving it on all day. But best of all, I can turn the Sunbeam Slumber Rest Premium Heated Mattress Pad on  before bed in the winter and when I am ready, I get to crawl into a nice warm bed. The product was a little pricey, but it is well worth it on those cold winter nights!

We used to have an electric blanket for the winter, but the heated mattress pad is 100% better.  Pair it with flannel sheets and you may not want to get out of bed in the morning.  It warms up the bed quickly and is easy to regulate.  I set it at #7 before bed and then turn it down to #1 when I get in bed........just enough to keep the chill out during the night.
