this gift is around $100 but so healthy.  include a book on veggie combinations to juice.  keep the lived healthy and the whole body is healthy.  why not give the gift of good health?!  one of the best is an apple, then add two carrots 5 celery stalks and 1/4 of a purple cabbage.  the bettter juicers will do all the work.  the less expensive types will require you to cut the veggies up into small enought sections so that they will fit into the mouth of the juicer.  the drink is a great color and so good for the body, especially the liver.  with a very healthy liver the entire body will hummm with good health.  what could be better than that.  the juicer can be used year round.

honestly, i don't care much for the taste of veggie juices but i keep in mind how healthy they are for my body and just drink them.  the pulp an be added to soup or just thrown away.  i was always under the impression that the fiber in the veggies was So important.  yes, it is but the best way to have the best nutrition from the vitamins and minerals and good green pigment of the veggies is to drink it.  with out the pulp and fiber the body does not have to do much work and has all the nutrients that it needs...all the good portions of the veggies.  no cooking to break down the nutrients and no need for the body to work hard to extract the vitamins and minerals from the veggie...the juicer does all that work.

i am not too happy about the clean up but with a good juicer there are not many parts and the clean-up portion moves quickly.  the juice must be consumed in 15 minutes or less.  it can not be saved.  you can experiment with different veggies for the flavors that you like and hopefully you will find a veggie juice that you do enjoy.

In response to Jolie's comment from Nov 21, 2007 at 11:03AM:

dear jolie, no i don't but make sure what u buy can handle carrots. if not, find another. u can find one for $100 (or less on ebay). if u don't think that u will use it too often i would not invest more than $100 on one. if u find that u use it daily, go 4 one more expensive down the road. the $100 one i have has already lasted 3 years & i use it daily. also, be sure it does not have too many parts or u'll spend too much time cleaning it. p.s. a toothbrush is a great cleaning tool. sincerely, saundra

Do you have a specific juicer that you are recommending?
