The Sunbeam 5891 Bread Maker is a great asset to any homemaker. The machine features many baking options including settings for french, sweet, basic, and sandwich breads. It also has a dough only setting and bakes wonderful cakes.

The delay bake timer is perfect for busy moms or those who work late....

I have had other breadmakers and I never had one that made such awful noise!  It sounded like a loud, grinding, mechanical distress call.  I could hear it all over the house.  The instruction booklet said it might make a "knocking" noise if the dough ball was too dry.  When I added water, the noise... review »

I recently shopped for a bread machine to replace an old one that never did what I wanted. I wanted a heavy duty machine that could handle doughs with lots of nuts, seeds, whole grains, etc. But reviews for bread machines don't tell you that. So I started looked at the watts of various machines--where I could find it--figuring that at least might give me a clue. The Sunbeam 5891 was the least expensive machine I found, and also was close to the highest number of watts. So I figured it couldn't hurt to try the inexpensive one first, and return it if it couldn't handle a heavy dough. I could always... review »

I've owned 3 different bread makers over the years. This one is by far my favorite. The loaf is more like the shape of a traditional loaf so the slices look "normal" to my family. I love the window that enables you to see the dough as it mixes and bakes. There is a delay option and tons of different settings. You can choice from a 2 lb or 1 1/2 lb loaf, crust color (light, med or dark), dough, white, wheat, sweat bread setting. And best of all there is an option for quick bread that takes just over one hour from start to finish on a small loaf. On other bread makers, I had trouble getting... review »

I bought this on a whim as an extra Christmas gift on sale at Wal-Mart for about $25. What a deal! The whole family has gotten involved - even friends of our teenage son are baking bread. The machine is easy to use, easy to clean and the bread is delicious. the recipes included are limited but the internet has more recipes than we can ever bake in this lifetime. I;ve figured out how to adapt regular recipes too. The only downside I see is that the loaves are that funny bread-machine shape instead of traditional loaf shape. When aesthetics matter I just use the dough setting & take the bread out... review »

This machine makes the best darn bread! I love smelling it when its baking and the taste of all the different breads is soooo good. I have been making bread for about 5 years now and will never go buy a loaf from the store or bakery again. This is my 3rd machine and I will buy and buy again when they go out. I make about a loaf every other day, but I also make it for friends, teachers, church, you name it, you will always have a back up gift if needed.

For the longest time I didn't want a bread maker because they seemed so big and took up so much counter space. My mother-in-law bought this Sunbeam Breadmaker for me for Christmas last year and I've been quite pleased with it.

I really like that it has somewhat of a slim design, the bulk of the space is taken up from front to back instead of side to side. It's approximate measurements are 14"L x 10"W.

Since I've had the breadmaker I haven't gone back to making homemade, because it's so much easier. You just attach the kneading blade to the pan, add your ingredients, push a few buttons and you have...

Sunbeam Bread Machine 5891 makes good homestyle white bread and really good sandwich bread.  The biggest problem with it is the awkward size of the loaf of bread.  It makes a square loaf of bread with the slices about 6": by 6".  I have heard that some people let the machine do the mixing, kneading, and rising or the dough, then you can take out the dough and put it into a regular sized loaf pan.

I would recommend white homestyle basic or sandwich of all the selections that the breadmaker has available.

The wheat bread comes out pretty tough, mostly because the crust is really tough even if you...

Bread Machine Sunbeam 5891.  I make bread twice a week.  I only use the machine to mix the dough, after which I remove the dough from the machine.  In my opinion the machine is underpowered.  Also, it seems to have plastic or nylon gears and they cause quite a lot of noise when they seem to 'slip.'  But my biggest aggravation is that a black gunk forms under the paddle and I get black spots and streaks in the dough.  This black gunk seems to be coming from the paddle shaft and shaft bushing.  It has become quite loose in the housing and apparently allows some liquid and dough to get into...

this bread maker was a christmas gift to me from family. Wanting to be able to bake my own bread, but being to busy to actually put the time into oven baking this worked out awesome.

the digital settings on it are great as it makes for easy and accurate readings. Also the possibilities for different bread types is awesome.

The only draw back i would say is the space the breadmakes takes up. Once i have it on the counter i don't have space for anything else, and it takes up a whol shelve by itself in the kitchen cabinet when stored.

All in all, I am very happy with this product.

This is a Sunbeam 2-lb. Nonstick Breadmaker with Express Bake. MODEL- 5891 VENDOR- Sunbeam FEATURES- 2 pound Breadmaker Want to come home to the smell of fresh bread in the evening? Our breadmakers make many types of bread at the touch of a button.* 2.0 lb Loaf* 13-hour Delay Bake* 12 Cooking Functions* ExpressBake

It's nice to add ingrediants and forget it. The loaf isn't very large, and the crust was kind of hard, but it was very tasty. I've only used it once, so I hope to be able to soften the crust the next time.

I've had my Sunbeam 5891 bread machine for a whopping 3 weeks now but am having loads of fun trying all kinds of recipes (you can find tons at allrecipes.com). This is my first time using a bread machine and I find it to be really easy to use and, so far, pretty much foolproof if you follow the recipe exactly. I don't especially like the shape of the bread pan so have used the dough cycle more than anything and then shape as desired. Overall, I'd say this is a good model if you're just starting out. Another plus was it's low cost at Walmart.

My neighbor gave this breadmake  to me and I cannot think of a better gift.  I don't know how I lilved without it.  The person who invented is marvelous.  This is just the item when entertaining.  I bake bread at the spare of the moment; whenever I feel like it.  I love the smell of fresh baked bread.  This is so convenient and takes the work out of homemade bread.  This machine is wonderful.  I used to bake bread about once a year, now I bake it at least once a month.

I had a Sunbeam breadmaker which works perfect for 5 years and started to step in its nursing room then I bought a new Sunbeam breadmaker 5891. This new one started to make grinding screaming unpleasant noise when I make doughs since the second month. I could not return it to Wal-Mart because I threw away the box.

So I finally called 800-528-7713, the customer service line. After checking the A183 number from the plug, the lady happily announced promised to send me a new Oyster breadmaker. So I am waiting...
