Sunbeam Bread Machine 5891  —

I bought this on a whim as an extra Christmas gift on sale at Wal-Mart for about $25. What a deal! The whole family has gotten involved - even friends of our teenage son are baking bread. The machine is easy to use, easy to clean and the bread is delicious. the recipes included are limited but the internet has more recipes than we can ever bake in this lifetime. I;ve figured out how to adapt regular recipes too. The only downside I see is that the loaves are that funny bread-machine shape instead of traditional loaf shape. When aesthetics matter I just use the dough setting & take the bread out & bake on a pizza stone in the oven.

Responding to the listed cons - It does take up a fair amount of counter space - but no more than any other bread machine. I haven't had a problem mixing in the flour & I'd say if the bread is hard or hard to slice the problem is the recipe, not the machine

I know there are fancier machines that make traditional shaped loaves - but they're way more money. This machine is a great value for the money & we have delicious fresh preservative free bread as often as we like.
