I recently shopped for a bread machine to replace an old one that never did what I wanted. I wanted a heavy duty machine that could handle doughs with lots of nuts, seeds, whole grains, etc. But reviews for bread machines don't tell you that. So I started looked at the watts of various machines--where I could find it--figuring that at least might give me a clue. The Sunbeam 5891 was the least expensive machine I found, and also was close to the highest number of watts. So I figured it couldn't hurt to try the inexpensive one first, and return it if it couldn't handle a heavy dough. I could always try a pricier one later if necessary.
Brought it home, immediately tried my favorite recipe with nuts, seeds, whole grains, etc. and it worked like a charm. Mixed the dough with no trouble, didn't struggle, was quiet, and the bread turned out great.
I find the lighest crust setting is best, any higher than that and it's too dark. You have to mix in the flour from the corners during the first mix, so if you choose to use the time-delay setting, you may have floured corners on your bread. Other than that, no complaints at all.
I've used this machine at least twice a week for the past two months, tried lots of different recipes, and I continue to love it. Would recommend it to anyone
