This easy-to-use bread machine is a life saver!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Anyone that knows me, knows I am a major foodie, and that I love to cook.  However, that does not include baking.  I do not like to bake things from scratch and will buy mixes for all my muffins, cakes and brownies.  The one thing that I don't buy a mix for is home-made bread.  My Sunbeam Bread Machine 5891 takes care of all my bread making for me!

The only thing I don't like about the Sunbeam Bread Machine 5891 is how huge and heavy it is.  It is so big, I dread getting it out of the cupboards to make a loaf of bread.  It is so heavy, I usually leave it on the counter for a couple weeks after using and just keep making bread because I don't want to lift i...

I have owned a few bread machines over the years, and I am pleased with this one.  It has all the features needed...a 2 lb. capacity, multiple bread settings, a setting for the darkness of the crust, a timer, delay start function, and a good display.  It is a bit noisy when kneading, but very comparable to other models.  The beep is nice and loud to alert you when the bread is ready.

My favorite use for a bread machine is to prepare dough for homemade rolls.  Just pop in the ingredients, and let it do the work.  When the machine beeps you just have to remove the dough, shape into balls, let rise, and bake!

I also bake bread in the machine...normally just white bread, nothing fancy.  It comes out great.  You can add the ingredients yourself or buy a mix from the store.  The machine is easy to use and easy to clean!  Remove the pan, fill with water to soak for a short time, and wipe clean.

Sunbeam Bread Machine is great!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

About a month ago I finally gave in and purchased this bread machine on Amazon.com. I was initially hesitant because I wasn't sure if a bread machine was worth it since bread making by hand really isn't too hard. I have used it constantly since I got it and I definitely LOVE it! This machine is easy to use and the doughs and breads come out great every time. I love how the dough rises perfectly since the bread machine regulates the air temperature and it's never over cooked. I also love how there's no mess involved. No flour all over my counter from hand kneading. So far I have made cinnamon rolls, lots of bread, pizza dough, and bread sticks. I haven't gotten store bought bread products since purchasing this machine!

I recieved the breadmaker for christmas last year.  I love it, I use it at least once a week.  It is great for more than just making bread.  Mostly I use the dough cycle and make my own pizza dough.  The recipe I found has garlic in the dough and comes out tender and delicious.  The money we have saved by making our own pizza is great.  The added bonus is getting everyone in the kitchen to top their own pizza.  This machine has enough space and power to double my recipe, which is helpful in a house of six with big appetites.

I also use it to make bread.  I love to make garlic bread and other floavored loaves of bread.  It work great, bread comes out perfect as long as everything is warmed to about 70 degrees.  I have tried to rush things and everthing was still too cold(water and yeast) and my bread didn't rise correctly.

All in all, I love this appliance.  I hope to try more recipes and cycles.  i would like to try to make pretzel dough and cinnamon buns.

I cannot live without my sunbeam bread machine

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I am obsessed with my breadmaker. I have had several over the years, my first being a sunbeam. It was unfortunately dropped and I had to suffer through other brands, until I found another sunbeam!

This bread machine is SO simple to use, and is great for beginners but works hard enough for the "expert" breadmaker.

It comes with an instruction manual with lots of great recipes. I have yet to find a better white bread recipe than the one provided. It also comes with a tablespoon and teaspoon measure as well as a small measuring cup so you don't need anything else but the ingredients!

I have YET to make a bad loaf with this machine, and I've made many a loaf. It mixes really...

Love coming home to homemade bread with the Sunbeam Breadmaker

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

This sunbeam 5891 breadmaker was a gift from my mom and dad. never had used one but LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! sooooooo nice to come home to homemade bread and when you open the front door and walk in, the smell fills the house. Since it is my first bread machine i can't compare it to others but i can say it makes a nice big loaf, has a window on top, easy to clean, and there is a homemade jam/jelly feature but haven't tried that yet. there is also a dough setting so when that is done you can take it out to make pizza, rolls and more. the cons are that it is big and takes up a lot of space. The manual that comes with the machine is hard to understand. Crust on the first couple batches came out har...

I love my Sunbeam Breakmaker

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

There is nothing better in my mind that the smell of fresh baked bread so whenever I have time I love to make bread. I purchased the Sunbeam 2 pound programable breadmaker and I am very, very, happy with my purchase. It is so easy to add all the ingredients in and let it mix, rise, knead for your. I have gone ahead and let my bread bake right in the appliance but I am not always that happy with the results. So I have found that I prefer to go ahead and but it in a bread pan and bake it in my oven, where I get perfect results every time. I have made many different types of bread in this machine. Raisin bread, rye bread, wheat, and white just to name a few. I have even mixed up dough in here to make carmel rolls. I just take the dough out and let it rise after it has mixed and tear it apart and place it in the pan and it is yummy carmel rolls.

my breadmaker is awsome, I would not trade it for anything else

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Today I am writing a review about  my Sunbeam bread-maker. For years I wanted to make my own bread, so one day I sat down and I thought "I must purchase a bread machine to make and sample different types of  breads. I finally bought the bread maker.  First, I made a whole wheat bread and shared it with one of my friends She exclaimed, "this is very good, I love the taste." What I love about my bread machine is that I  just add all ingredients, set the timer, and go about doing other things until the bread is done. When the bread is done I have just one small pan to clean and that's all.  I really love this bread machine because it is convenient, essential, right size, and a beauty to behold. In my years of owning this beard machine I do not think I would ever want to trade or give it up for anything else. I plan to cherish this little treasure that can make me healthy breads and many other pastries  in years to come.

Sunbeam Breadmaker Has Some Nice Options

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

After I discovered that my kids have sensitivities to gluten and corn products, I quickly discovered that I needed to make our own bread. This Sunbeam model caught my eye and I decided to give it a try. I had a previous breadmaker, but since I had made bread with wheat in it, I decided to purchase a new one after my kids seemed to have problems with the gluten-free bread that I made it it.

What I like about the Sunbeam Breadmaker:

  • It has a window in the top that enables you to see the bread being made.

  • You can choose whether you want the bread to be light, medium, or dark.

  • It has an express bake setting that allows you to make bread in 58 minutes (use less salt and bread machin...

So easy and great time saver

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

First off, I love this bread machine. I had been looking for a long time for a great bread machine and after much deliberation I bought this one. My biggest issue is that using it to bake will give you a hard bottom crust because of the heating element so I will use the dough setting and bake in my oven if i'm not too busy. I can even set it to make bread at night and have fresh baked bread in the morning. YUM! If you want to make healthier breads and not feed your family store bought I highly recommend this machine. I was very intimidated by making my own bread but now I bake fresh all the time. The biggest down side to this is that you may gain a few extra pounds from eating all of the fresh baked warm goodness that you won't be able to stay away from.

Good Machine with Quirks

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

This bread maker has spoiled me. I never make bread from scratch anymore. I like the Sunbeam 5891 bread maker, but it does have a few quirks. It meets my needs and bakes simple loafs for our family. I have not had success on the more complicated bread recipes. But, I think it is primarily due to my inexperience. I can program the machine to make the bread when I am away. This is a great relief because the bread machine makes a terrible racket and clicking noise while kneading the dough. I called customer service, but they had no recommendations and offered to replace the product. However, I did not bother to return the machine. The clicking does not seam to affect the bread making - however, it does drive me nuts. The clicking detours me from programming the bread machine at night. Even though it meets most my needs, I would probably not buy this machine again or recommend it to a friend.

The noise was awful!

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

I have had other breadmakers and I never had one that made such awful noise!  It sounded like a loud, grinding, mechanical distress call.  I could hear it all over the house.  The instruction booklet said it might make a "knocking" noise if the dough ball was too dry.  When I added water, the noise went away until the water mixed in and then the noise started again.  I had to keep adding water to get it to shut up.  I'm guessing the motor needs to be stronger.  I tried three recipes--one of my tried and true recipes, a dough recipe, and one of their recipes.  All were noisy.  I don't consider it a convenience to have to constantly add water.  The three recipes I made came out well and the controls were fairly easy to use, but I couldn't stand the noise, so I took it back to the store for a refund.  Perhaps mine was a dud, because other people have given it good reviews.

Bread can be easy to make!

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

We bought this breadmaker right after we got married. I was anxious to become little suzy homemaker (didn't work out quite so well). But atleast now I can make a delicious loaf of bread. The directions are easy to follow. It comes with a recipe book, so you don't go into this blind. Follow the directions to a T and you should be fine. The cinnamon roll dough was very tasty.

There are only a couple of problems I have with this machine. One, the crust comes out super hard. I do the same things every time, and it is hit or miss with the crust. We just cut it off because the inside is delicious. Also, our unit is very noisy. The only time it is quiet is when it is resting. It squeeks and whirs so loud we have to turn our television up to hear over it. I've learned to just make the dough and bake in our oven. It is so much quieter and it still takes the mess out of making the dough. For the price, it's worth it.

great value for the money

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I bought this on a whim as an extra Christmas gift on sale at Wal-Mart for about $25. What a deal! The whole family has gotten involved - even friends of our teenage son are baking bread. The machine is easy to use, easy to clean and the bread is delicious. the recipes included are limited but the internet has more recipes than we can ever bake in this lifetime. I;ve figured out how to adapt regular recipes too. The only downside I see is that the loaves are that funny bread-machine shape instead of traditional loaf shape. When aesthetics matter I just use the dough setting & take the bread out & bake on a pizza stone in the oven. Responding to the listed cons - It does take up a fai...

Sunbeam Bread Machine was disappointing.

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

I do not recommend this Sunbeam Bread Machine. It is very cheaply made and not durable at all. The lid is extrememly flimsy.

It does not always bake the bread properly. I tried baking several different loaves in mine and none of them came out right. Every single loaf deflated. I followed the recipes exactly the way they were in the cookbook that came with the bread machine. I also tried other recipes I found online. None of the loaves came out. They did not completely cook in the middle either.

This bread machine is cheaper than other models, but it also isn't a high quality. You really get what you pay for. I thought perhaps I had a "dud" bread maker so I exchanged it. The new machine (same model) still did not work. I was very disappointed.

However, this bread machine is easy to use. It does the basic bread making. You can choose different size loaves and use it to mix dough. I still would not recommend this model to anyone.
