Summer Infant Handheld Color Video Monitor Review

I purchased the Summer Color Video Monitor.  This is my third child and it has been seven years since I had my last child, so needless to say, I have gone through many monitors.  This one ofcourse being the most expensive monitor I have ever purchased.  It was an attractive feature because it has the video monitor so I could actually see my baby which gives me comfort (and I didn't have to get out of bed a thousand times a night to check on the baby).  It worked good for about a nine months and progressively started getting worse. It was great while it worked but I would expect to get more use out of a monitor. Today it is awful, lots of static all the time whether it is plugged in or working on battery, and when I do use it on battery it only lasts twenty minutes, if I'm lucky!  That to me is definately not worth the money I payed for it, which was $170.00.  I probably should have done more research on video monitors before I made this purchase, which is why I decided to write this to let other people know to do  their research a little better than I did mine.  Summer is a popular brand in video monitors but I have had very bad luck with mine.
