The monitor is nice because it is easily carried around with someone while allowing constant viewing of your precious new one (if camera is aimed at them). It allows audio only with as needed picture-viewing to save battery strength. You can do chores, and get the mail, or the paper while carrying the monitor, because it has long-range.
