The Summer Infant Handheld Color Video Monitor is very nice to use.  I've had it for almost 3 years now and use it for my second child.  Some children get excited when they see you coming in, but you can view them on the monitor in order to make sure they are okay, or if their crys  are ones of falling asleep.  The only downfall is that the battery is going dead and is picking up more static.  I tried to find a replacement battery and haven't found one yet.  The stand also doesn't work all that well anymore.  But, for the 3 years I have used it, it really has lived up to all the things I hoped it would.
