I bought this about 20 months ago, and from the time I got it there was on/off static. Which is REALLY annoying when you're trying to sleep. I got to the point where I would turn it off at night. Then I noticed the unit getting abnormally hot. I woke up one morning to find it melted, and still sucking power from the wall. I called Summer and was told it was my fault. (Not the case.) They said they would send me a refurbished unit for $70. Fine. 11 days later the replacement arrived - and it was packaged poorly. It was visably used (scratches all over it), and this one didn't work either (just white fuzz on the screen and constant static). When I called Summer, they were insincere in their efforts to correct the problem. Honestly, that's what upsets me the most - treating the consumer like a burden. They said I would have to return this broken unit, and when they received it (i.e. another 11 days), they would send me another one. Which means it'll probably take them up to 22 days to get me another unit and even then, its a 50/50 shot it would work. Riiiiight. I told them to forget it, send me my money back, and keep their unit. I'm going with another brand.
