I bought this monitor after having my second baby and wished I had spent the money and bought one when I had my first baby! It is wonderful to be able to see you baby in their crib and not have to open the door to peek and risk wakeing baby up. The picture is great in day and night mode. The volume can be turned up really loud if you are a heavy sleeper and it has a battery saving mode where the screen goes black to reserve power if you have in unplugged from the outlet. I love it!!! Now I dont have to guess what the sound is coming from babies room, is he jumping or struggling? I can look at the monitor and know he is ok without having to open the door and cause a temper tantrum.
