I definitely reccomend a video monitor for NEW moms.. it has helped me tremendously from running upstairs to my babys room every minute!! it is just peace of mind for nervous moms.. I love being able to SEE and hear him. This product will be used for awhile to until at least toddler stage just to keep an eye on my lil man. I do firmly reccomend
