Summer Infant Baby's Quiet Sounds Video Monitor Review

I first bought just a regular set of monitors when my son was born, but saw this monitor on sale and thought I'd give it a try and I'm glad I did.  I don't know how I would survive without the video now, as it lets me see what is happening in the crib.  Sometimes my son will give a little cry in his sleep, but then rolls over and he's fine.  The video lets me see if he's awake, sitting up or settling back down or if he's standing up wanting to get out.  He often wakes in the morning and doesn't make a sound for several minutes before he wants to get out, so seeing that he's awake before I can hear him allows me to get up and get dressed by the time he's ready to get out of the crib.  I actually can't think of one complaint I have about this monitor, although it's the only video monitor I've used.  The picture is clear, the sound is great, there's no static when the room is quiet and the lights show the amount of noise in the room, even if the video screen is turned off.  We take it when my son is having a sleepover and it's easy to move and set up.  I've recommended it to several of my friends who are also new moms and they have also bought this and love it.   I know there are more high tech monitors available, but this one suits me just fine.  Do you really need a colour flat-screen baby monitor?
