This potty seat can be gender neutral, thus can be something useful for both boys and girls. It has a fun toilet paper holder, allowing your child to feel a bit more like they are using a "real potty". The cushion is soft and there is a splash guard that you can add for boys. There is a small compartment where you can store this, but it was just one more thing for our daughter to be distracted by, so we didn't store anything in this compartment...otherwise, it didn't stay in there long because she would find it and start playing instead of trying to use the potty. The lid can come off very easily, and so eventually just decided to leave it off because our daughter wouldn't leave it alone while she was sitting on the potty. It is very easy to clean this. I wouldn't really recommend using this as a step stool, but for a training potty it does what it is meant to do and is not very expensive.

We received this potty chair as a gift for christmas for our son, he is 2.5 years old and we are starting to train him. I do not like the fact that you are can take the pee guard out, because he has learned that he can take it out and then we end up with pee all over the floor. Also you have to make sure that your son is positioned far enough away from the guard because if he has a strong pee it will come shotting all all over the place onto the floor, him and down into the potty, but not in the bucket. By far the worst thing I have found with this potty chair is the fact that the pee bucket does not take up the whole bottom of the potty chair, there are gaps on both sides so that if your son is not aimed just right or sprays a lot the pee will go down in the bottom of the potty chair under the bucket and it is a horrible mess to clean. The inside of the potty chair on the bottom is not flat, it is a grid, so you end up with pee in all different sections and it is so hard to clean out good. There are 9 different sections that need to each be wiped out. I would not recommend this toilet to anyone for training their son.

My wife and I looked at several different potties for our son and we finally settled on this one. Big mistake. It looks great and the description on the box makes you feel like this is a very handy and versatile potty. However, what they don't tell you is how messy this potty really can be. Everytime my son sat in it to pee pee, his pee pee would go all over the place & underneath the bucket. It would need to be disassembled and rinsed out after every single use. It does come with a pee guard which is supposed to help contain the urine but it easily falls out and really doesn't work even when it does stay on. I believe for a girl this would be an excellent potty but for boys I would stay away. There are some very nice features to this potty despite the design flaw. It has a toilet paper holder built in. There is a storage compartment for wipes or other things. It has a nice lid and the seat is very cushiony too. The potty is also made from a strong plastic which should last a good while in case you need it for future children. Overall it's a decent potty but I would not buy this potty for a boy unless you don't care to constantly clean all unnecessary parts of the potty.

Our 25 month old daughter is starting to demonstrate signs of readiness for potty-training. We decided to buy this one based on a recommendation we received from someone at the store. (We got the girl-y version of this product) So far, it's working great! The padded seat leads to longer periods of time "trying" to go, and the added features of having a toilet paper roll and compartment for wipes makes this product easy to have everything at the ready! It's also very easy to clean. We like this potty chair so much that we have since bought another one to keep at Grandma's house!

I reviewed potty chairs and did not want anything that made noise or was extremely bulky, yet wanted something that resembled a real toilet so I chose this one. Big mistake! Every time my son used it, I had to spend five minutes cleaning it because the splash guard did not work! Pee got everywhere! Under the splash guard, under the soft seat, and under the pee bucket. It was a mess everytime! I know he was sitting correctly and still and it still went everywhere. The other part was that it was very big and in our small bathroom it took up half the floor! I would not recommend this potty to those with little boys (as I can not speak about little girls issues). I went and bought a simple 1 piece of plastic, no parts potty and it was so easy to clean and it worked perfectly for us! Do not waste your money on this Summer Infant potty!

Toilet training is never a fun job but it doesn't mean it should be a hard task. Having the right tools can make life easier. However, that doesn't mean your toddler will co-operate. Luckily, my wife and I managed to train our son using the **Summer 3 Stage Potty Trainer** before he graduated to something else. The *Summer 3 Stage Potty Trainer* is completely made out of hard plastic and assembles together quite easily. The base snaps onto the toilet topper to create a smaller version of a toilet for toddlers. A container is placed inside the base right underneath the opening of the toilet topper to catch the refuge. A soft, padded seat is placed on top of the topper for added comfort when a child sits on it. And that's how easy it is to assemble the entire thing. For added effect *(and extra convenience for parents)*, a built-in toilet tissue and flushable wipes holder emulates an adult toilet setting for children to learn about the surrounding environment. And to complete that effect, a toilet lid can be attached to close the seat. There is also a removable splashguard for parents with boys to help prevent those unnecessary accidents spraying all over the place. You know what I mean. Stickers are also included to reward your toddler for doing an excellent job. The base also acts as a footstool when turned over but even still couldn't reach it after I placed it underneath his feet. In addition, the stool doesn't have proper grip when placed on a tiled floor. I keep noticing how it slides around while my son stands on it when using it to reach the sink to wash his hands. Over the course of time, my wife and I really started hating to empty out the contents of his toilet activities. The removable splashguard became pretty ineffective, as it never stayed in place without fail. Just trying to affix it became just as much of a chore. And of course it was a struggle to take apart the base from the topper especially when cleaning the inside. Because the splashguard was pretty much useless, most of my son's bodily fluids ended up inside the base rather than the container. But despite its many flaws, the **Summer 3 Stage Potty Trainer** did what we wanted it to do. Our son became aware of using the potty more frequently and knew exactly where to go when it was time. It also helped that I was able to move it around the house by easily lifting it around from the built-in handles on the side. There are times I almost feel that the *Summer 3* wasn't needed at all but I know this is entirely true. Just seeing the physical small potty helped teach him to practical use of using it.

When we started potty training our son, we started with a step up potty seat, but it wasn't working.  He said that he would use the potty if we got him a small potty that we could put in the living room.  After sorting through all the different potties in the store, my son decided he wanted the Summer Infant 3 Stage Reward Potty Trainer & Step Stool. The biggest pro for me is that it has a large basin for them to go in so there's no worries about them missing or of anything spilling when carrying it to the bathroom to clean out.  It has a padded removable seat, which is like a smaller version of an adult toilet seat.  There's a spot on the top for a pack of flushable wipes as well as a pull-out holder on the side for a roll of toilet paper,  It makes it easy for them to learn to wipe properly when the supplies are right there for them just like on the big potty.  It also comes with a sheet of reward stickers you can use if you have a sticker chart. Once they master going on the little potty, it comes apart and can be used as a potty seat and step-stool for the regular toilet. The downside is that it is very large which can make it difficult to find a place to store that's out of the way.
