I thought it was urban legend, a story that grew in zest every-time it was told. I never thought it could be true. I had heard there was this little, Middle Eastern convenience store on West North Avenue in Chicago that offered, behind the soap and small boxes of cereal, fresh falafel that was out of this world. The reputation was so grand, and the locale so bizarre, I never gave it much credence. But then I tired it!

read full review »To echo an earlier review: yes, they do have great falafel. Not only that, but great chicken shawerma, zatter bread, and spinach pies, and all very reasonably-priced. But they are also a very customer-centric business as well.
I've been a fan of the aforementioned chicken shawarma, a dish of chunk chicken, peppers, onions, tomatoes and cukes and very nicely seasoned, for quite a while. The other day, I thought I would "walk on the wild side" and get the lamb shawarma.
