Sugarland, a C&W trio on their initial release is now a duo and back with their sophomore release Enjoy The Ride. With lead vocals by Jennifer Nettles, Sugarland’s Enjoy The Ride opened to mixed reviews with our cadre of music-loving reviewers; one stated: “Enjoy The Ride is much more upbeat, poppy and positive with inspired themes about confidently sinking your teeth into the life you have.” Still another reviewer allowed: “Lyrics can make or break an album, and they go a long way towards breaking this one. Checking in at eleven tracks, only three songs resonated with me, most of the rest are okay, but not outstanding.” Enjoy The Ride was written mostly to showcase Nettles’ big voice and in so doing lost some of the charm that made the groups first CD such a hoot to listen to. Amazing CD!
listening to country, a fan of good music

The whole cd was AMAZING!  I bought it and listen to it all the time!!!  I like that I got to be surprised by the songs on the cd due to the fact they weren't all played on the radio.  Of course Stay was, but others that really rocked weren't.  I think the blend of voices and the emotion put into the songs make this cd so great!  I'd recommend this cd to all country fans and music lovers!  The cover is pretty inticing as well.  You don't see so many cd covers so colorful.  I was impressed by everything, eyecathing as well as ear friendly!

When I bought "Enjoy the Ride" cd, I had to play it right away.  While listening to the cd I was thrilled! Usually there are only a few songs on the cd's that I really enjoy, but this one was not like that! I loved every song.  Every song was great, there were probably people passing on the side of me in their cars wondering what I was doing dancing while I was driving it was that good.

Jennifer Nettles totally dominates Sugarland's second album. Enjoy The Ride is much more upbeat, poppy and positive with inspired themes about confidently sinking your teeth into the life you have. Dig those chiming 12-string leads that open "County Line."

I have had this cd for a while but i just started listening to it this past weekend. I had originally bought it for the song, settlin, and that was pretty much the only good song on the cd.  The rest of them are moppy, sad, ballads and nothing like the opener.  The first album was way better!

I think that this CD is a wonderful compilation of both singers.  they have songs on the CD that gets you up and movie and then they have the soft dramatic side that can a touch a person.  I haven't found a song that I didn't like by them and this CD is no different.

Don't waste your money

I would like to start this review off by saying that I love Sugarland.  I have heard them live a few times and really enjoy their music.  So of course, when their new album Enjoy the Ride came out, I had to buy it right away.  I realized after listening to it only once that I had wasted my money.

Sugarland's first CD Twice the Speed of Lifeis great.  They have this wonderful, classic country sound that manages to be contemporary at the same time.  Every single one of the songs on this CD are well written and well performed.  They are different and really fun to listen to.  Jennifer Nettles...
