I was disappointed when I tried the Sucrets Classic Sore Throat Lozenges, because this is a well known, well trust brand that has been around for quite a long time. These Sucrets come in a few different flavors, but I bought the cherry flavor and it wasn't that bad. I feel like these didn't do a great job at making my cough go away, and didn't relieve or numb my throat as well as they could have. I felt a very slight relief but it didn't last that long, and I felt like I had to keep sucking on these just to feel any relief. I can only feel the relief for a few minutes before it disappears completely. My throat was still sore, and painful. I was still coughing, and I was still very uncomfortable. These aren't very powerful or long lasting cough drops. I was kind of disappointed. I wouldn't recommend buying these if you need a strong powered cough drops. These might be nice to keep in your purse or desk when you have a slight tickle in your throat but not for a full blown sore throat. They were cheap so I didn't feel so bad about wasting my money, but I probably would not buy them again. Congestion Relief I did not feel any congestion relief what so ever. Chest Congestion Relief These are not effective at giving any chest congestion relief. I have no idea if they are actually meant to give any chest congestion, probably not. Relief of Aches & Pains These cough drops are not meant to relieve aches and pains. Cough Suppression This isn't the best cough drop I've tried for cough suppression. It works but not that well. I find that it only works for a brief amount of time before my throat starts to hurt and feel hoarse again. It gave my throat a bit of moisture which was great, but it wasn't long lasting.

Growing up, my parents always had these in my house and I didn't realize how helpful they truly were until I moved out and didn't have them. Sometimes, you just have a sore throat you can't seem to shake, and Sucrets numb it just enough so you can continue with normal life, but doesn't make your mouth uncomfortably numb. I have yet to find something on the market that works as well as Sucrets. I do have to say I don't care for the cherry flavor too much but it doesn't keep me from using these when I need them, because flavor doesn't matter. Congestion Relief This isn't really made for congestion relief, so it doesn't really relieve any congestion. Chest Congestion Relief This isn't made for chest congestion relief, so it doesn't relieve chest congestion. Relief of Aches & Pains This does an excellent job of helping with sore throats, and doing so quickly. I love that I can instantly numb my sore throat within just a few seconds of popping a Sucret.

I used to use Sucrets Classic Sore Throat Lozenges when I was a little kid (approximately 40 years ago). I remember never liking the taste so I was not to thrilled when my doctor told me to use it along with my expectorant. Well to my relieve they now come in cherry (I do not remember if they did have cherry when I was a young kid) and I am very happy with the taste. They also come in lemon honey which is good too, but I like the cherry better. It did everything it was supposed to do. My raw throat felt more numb and relaxed. I think it even helped my cough. I cannot recommend this product enough. It really did wonders by me. Remember Sucrets Classic Sore Throat Lozenges are the key to your sore throat. Congestion Relief Lots of relief for my congestion. Big time relief. Chest Congestion Relief I was not sure it would help with chest congestion but it seriously surprised and did. Relief of Aches & Pains I most definitely had aches and pains with my last cold and cough as well as sore throat. I not totally sure it helped with all my aches and pains but it did some. Cough Suppression Sucrets did a really nice job of this.

First of all, Sucrets is NOT a cough drop. Sucrets has a numbing medicine in it for sore throats. It doesn't have medicine in it for coughs. Likewise, cough drops are NOT made for sore throats and do not have this kind of medicine in them. It is important to understand that difference. I have used Sucrets when my throat is sore from allergies, post-nasal drip, colds, and strep throat. It isn't meant to heal your sore throat, but to give pain relief until whatever is causing your sore throat clears up. (Make sure you see your doctor.) While Sucrets may not take away all the pain with every sore throat, it sure is better than suffering without it. The numbing medicine can distract the pain of even a serious sore throat. I've used Sucrets for sore throats ever since I was a kid. They come in Wild Cherry flavor. I've never been a fan of cherry flavored anything, but this one is not bad. The lozenge is a round, flat disk which you suck on until it slowly dissolves. The dissolving process does take a while, which is helpful because I personally think I get the most pain relief while it is dissolving than the after effect. As it is dissolving, I instantly feel the numbing medicine penetrate the roof of my mouth and the back of my throat, in particular. Once it is dissolved, the throat and mouth remain numb for a while, but it's not real long lasting. This time varies depending on how bad of a sore throat it is. The directions say that it can be taken every 2 hours (no more than 10 per day). Congestion Relief Does not apply. Chest Congestion Relief Does not apply. Cough Suppression Does not apply.

Sucrets have been around for a very long time, and have become a trusted and reliable brand over the decades. My mother gave them to me to help with y sore throats when I was a child, and I have provided them to my own children to alleviate sore throats. Back then, they were only produced with the classic green coloring. Now, there is a choice of flavors such as cherry (which I dislike) and honey lemon. They do provide a brief reprieve from sore throat pain. If you are looking for longer term relief, you may have to supplement these with a standard pain killer. An added bonus, is that you can reuse to store a variety of small objects. Congestion Relief Not applicable. Chest Congestion Relief This category is not applicable as the product is not designed to relieve chest congestion. Cough Suppression Although not primarily designed to suppress coughs per se, Sucrets do help somewhat, in a manner similar to a standard cough drop. They also help if your mouth feels dry.

I would not recommend this product unless you are really in need of strong medicine. I tried this stuff when I had strep throat because I could not swallow without extreme pain. When I first used Sucrets Sore Throat Lozenges I was so relieved because I actually could swallow without pain. As this was the desired result, I was happily satisfied. As time went on and my throat was not as painful as before, I noticed that my throat didn't hurt because it was numb. I didn't realize this because I was only taking fluids, mainly tea, so the numbness was not as noticeable as it was at this point in time. I could not taste anything and stopped taking them. If you need immediate help from pain and swelling, they are perfect. If you are not out of commission as I had been, you may opt for something less strong. It's up to you. You surely will not feel any much of anything when you take these.

I find Sucrets to be a really powerful sore throat lozenge, and to also help a little bit with cough suppression. They aren't really powerful medicine or anything, but they do give you short term relief. They also taste good, which is nice and makes it easier to stomach.

I was fighting a sore throat the "natural" way, drinking fluids and boosting my immune system but as my throat was worse and worse each morning and the zinc tabs I was sucking on weren't helping, I finally broke down and bought a tin of Sucrets. Sweet relief! My throat immediately felt better and the cherry taste was pleasant and not overwhelming. Helps soothe the throat as well as suppresses the cough and helps with congestion. This was the only thing that worked to get me on the track to feeling better. I will always have a tin of these on hand whenever I'm feeling run down or start to get a tickle in my throat. Congestion Relief definitely provides some relief Relief of Aches & Pains very good for soothing sore throat

I have all sorts of seasonal allergies and I always look for cough drops that help relief my sore throat from constant coughing. Especially in the spring time when I cough all the time due to my asthma and allergies. Sucrets does do it job by relieving that sore throat but in my opinion it does not last long. It's more of a instant and brief relief. I notice it has more than what a regular cough drop has but I still don't find it as effective as other brand. However, I do like the flavor of Sucrets. Maybe I am in to how candy-like they are and attached to flavor than what it suppose to do. It is very sweet to me but it has this medicine like after taste. It doesn't last as long as in consistency, it melts easily. Overall, I probably wouldn't go for Sucrets if I needed cough drops. Congestion Relief It does not help my congestion, maybe slightly. Chest Congestion Relief I do feel it but is not effective. Relief of Aches & Pains Temporary relief for sore throat Cough Suppression It really good for cough suppression but not for long.

I love Sucrets Classic!! Keeping them available in our home is a must. We don't need to use them often, but when we do I know that they are effectively working to help ease the pain of any of our sore throats. Even the worst of sore throats is eased some by Sucrets. When you are trying to sleep and a dry scratchy throat is bothering you they really do work. They dissolve slowly and evenly so that really helps spread out the relief. Some drops dissolve too fast or are gummy and stick to the roof of your mouth. I think the best things is the slight numbing effect that they have and that is almost instant relief! Congestion Relief it is not really intended for congestion, but having something in your mouth to suck on helps in general. Chest Congestion Relief it is not intended for any relief of chest congestion. Relief of Aches & Pains it does help with the relief of aches and pains in the throat and mouth, but not elsewhere. Cough Suppression It does help with cough suppression because of having the extra moisture in your mouth.
