This refrigerator is STILL the best ever. Still no problems. It's a machine!! You haven't lived until you've owned a Subzero. I'd sacrifice a friggin vacation just so I can always have one. After years of drooling over my sister's refrigerator and listening to her brag, we finally bought our own. I can't believe I ever put up with any other refrigerator from the GE we used to own to the Sanyo. There is just no comparison to a Subzero. It was worth every dime (lots of them). First, it's a beautiful piece of machinery. Extremely impressive looking and sounding when you open the door. When closing it, the seal becomes so tight that you can't open it again for about 10 seconds. It purifies the air inside so forget the old cup of baking soda trick on the shelves. The design inside allows you so much space. It even has cards on the side to show you where produce should be kept, where eggs should be kept, meat, etc.. The people I know who own a Subzero say it's one refrigerator that you will have a long, long time with little to no issues. I don't care if I have to sell my left arm, I will always have a Subzero in our house. It's so worth the money because it pays off in the end. My sister has had hers for over 10 years now. Beautiful. Noise Level What noise? Durability WILL BE THE LONGEST LIVING APPLIACNE YOU WILL EVER HAVE! Design EXCEPTIONAL!!

SubZero refrigerators gets my highest rating by far. From my experience with this product i get every bit of satisfaction from it. It does exactly what it is suppose to to do. With ample space for a variety of shelving selections for each part of section that i prefer to keep cool and fresh. And selective areas for more colder stuff like my drinks and freeze things without the burn like my steaks and always ice cubes ready without chipping em out. With a sleek look that matches my cabinets. Also i don't hear those annoying sounds the other reefers make when it is working. Or leaks cause it works too hard. All in all it is well worth it when you buy something its suppose to do. It even lets store foods without freezing them or making them condensate with moisture. My sandwiches are always kept fresh. My frozen foods are not burned from to much freon or refrigerant. Fresh vegetables always crisp. And ice cream kept like Ice CREAM. NOT FROZEN CREAM. Noise Level Quiet as a mouse

The Sub-Zero 642/S side by side refrigerator is a sleek, true counter depth built in refrigerator. It sits flush with cabinetry and is beautifully designed. The side by side design is roomy and functional. Noise Level The Sub Zero refrigerator is practically silent. Occasionally you will hear it, but it is quiet & not distracting. It is not a refrigerator you can hear running. Interior Organization Side by Side's are often difficult to "stock." The Sub Zero 642 has plenty of room to hold lots of food for my family of 6. There is ample space both on the shelves & on the doors. Temperature Control One thing I like best about Sub Zero refrigerators is they are true to temperature. Every time you open the unit, you can clearly see what the interior temperature is. Additionally, there is an alarm that will beep if the doors are left open too long or if they are not closed all the way. No more accidentally leaving the freezer open a touch & waking up to a freezer full of ruined food. Also, the Sub Zero brand features two compressors per unit, one for the refrigerator & one for the freezer. This is exceptional as it means the air in the fridge is not cycled through the air in the freezer, which means food last longer. I never have freezer burn on any of my frozen foods & my produce stays fresh up to a week longer than it did in my "regular" refrigerator. Less waste = savings. Ease of Cleaning The stainless steel is very easy to clean, you simply wipe it off with SS cleaner. The interior is also very easy to clean. The depth of the unit is shallow, so you can easily reach the back of the top shelves to wipe them off. If you have a spill, it stays contained to the shelf the spill was on, rather than dripping all over lower shelves. The compressor is located at the top of the unit, so if you have pets their hair doesn't clog the compressor as it does in other designs with the compressor at the bottom or back. Simply take the grate off the top once a year or so & vacuum it and you don't really have to think about it again. No more pulling the fridge out to clean behind it, either, as it is built in so nothing can get behind/under it. Durability Sub Zero refrigerators routinely last 20+ years. They are solidly made right here in the USA. The hinges are very strong, as are all of the interior components. Design Sub Zero refrigerators are classically designed to look fantastic for many years. There is no doubt when you see a Sub Zero in someone's kitchen you know right away it is a Sub Zero. Every unit they make is beautiful, which is probably why it is so hard to choose the one you love the most!

It is a great fridge overall. Cleans easily, keeps food cold and does not use too much electricity. My only complaint is that with regard to the ice maker, the ice tends to collect in the right corner and if not moved around often you are left with big bricks of ice that clog up the unit and end up going to waste and are unusable. Other than this, it cleans easily and is a great looking and well organized unit.

I really like the refrigerator portion of this unit. It is large and the amount of storage is great. It is easy to find what you want and cleaning is a breeze. My problem with the unit is the freezer portion. It is just not large enough. It is not wide enough to store things like a large turkey or large casseroles. It does keep foods cold enough but I find that I needed to buy an upright freezer in addition after getting this unti.

No bending over and rummaging through the bottom area. Temperature Control Had one with a freezer problem and even in our remote location we got it repaired in no time. Much less time than the GE in the butler's pantry. Ease of Cleaning Easy. Durability Durable. Design Nice, we had both Stainless panels and cabinet panels.

**Sub Zero is for those who expect quality and want the very best.  We remodeled our entire kitchen from ceiling to floor and wanted everything to be just so, using the space we had.  Sub Zero had a huge selection which met the needs of our family and contractor.  We chose a side-by-side refrigerator freezer that we had covered in white paneling to match, and blend in, with the rest of our cabinetry.  Once the doors open one can easily access each shelf and roll out, see through drawer.  Cleaning is a breeze with water and dry towel.  Shelving is adjustable. also.  We chose to have the icemaker inside rather than outside the door.  Fresh ice cubes continuously form and fill the ice bin.  Every part of the freezer is accessible and easy to clean.  We know it's costly, but aren't the better things in life worth more?  We've had it for almost 7 years with no servicing.  If service is necessary, a little light will let you know.  Get one for yourself and your family.  It's the best there is!!!!**

At first I was put off by the high price of this 41" refrigerator, but decided to bite the bullet as my GE Monogram was a mess. I couldn't have made a better decision! This refrigerator is quiet, keeps perfect temperatures and I've never had produce last this long in the specialized drawers.  You cannot go wrong with this brand and model. I went with the s/s because I wanted maximum refrigerator space as I have a full freezer. This one gives me all the space I need, even when having house guests. I did not get the door icemaker because this seems to be where problems can occur most often. Having the icemaker inside the freezer is just fine and it makes ice quickly too.
