I like most barbecue sauces and switch around, because I've never found a bottled BBQ sauce that I really love. Now I've tried Stubb's Bar-B-Q sauce, and I must say that I won't be switching around all the time now. Stubb's really is a fabulous barbeque sauce.

Several years back I got some terrific barbecue sauce at a flea market in Murphy, North Carolina. The sauce dripped down on the homemade label, so I have not been able to find the sauce man again even with a trip back to Murphy and the flea market.

So, what does that have to do with Stubb's barbecue sauce?

Stubb's sauce is very similar to the home bottled sauce the guy sold in Murphy. It has a nice sweet taste followed by a spicy kick. I've never found that combination done well except the Murphy sauce and now Stubb's.

I couldn't believe it when I put Stubb's on some crock pot chicken. (Very easy. Put chicken in crock pot. Add favorite barbecue sauce. Dinner is done when you get home.) I figured it would be a decent dinner, but WOW! With the Stubb's barbecue sauce, this was some super chicken.

Stubb's is even better on the grill or smoker. Well, everything is better on the grill or smoker I say. But, this is a terrific brush on sauce. Just don't put it on at the beginning. You sauce during the last part, because sauce will burn if put on too early.

I do write on grilling and outdoor cooking (yes you can grill dot com) and play around with various rub and sauce recipes. Homemade is generally better (if you have time to make it), but I like Stubb's better than any of my mixes - so far.

My youngest son does not care for much spice at all, and he did find the kick a little too much. If you really do not like much spice at all, then this may not be the sauce for you. But, otherwise, Stubb's is really fabulous. I try barbecue sauces from all over, and this is my favorite. I'm hungry just thinking about Stubb's.

Like your younger son, I can't handle zesty. I also don't eat barbeque nor do I like meats that have been basted with barbeque sauce BUT I love to dip chicken nuggets in bar-b-que sauce sometimes and I love the Mesquite barbeque chips. Yeah, call me weird; my family does ;+) ~Gigi

I recently tried this too - on both pork chops and chicken. I agree - was excellent!

If you are into the sauce, I recommend trying the smoked meats. They ship ribs, brisket, chopped beef, turkey, ham, etc, etc, anywhere in the country. Go to http://www.stubbsbbq.com

And I'M hungry just from reading this review and looking at that photo of the ribs. Believe me, for some of us there is no such thing as too spicy. I didn't know this was a special area of interest for you, I'll have to check out that website and look for Stubb's in the stores!
