I go here with my (almost 4 year old) grandson.  He has no problem with staying there all day, in fact we leave when I'm completely exhausted and not before.  Actually, I can always relax a bit by taking him to the Bill Gray's, the riding train or the merry-go-round.  He loves trains and there are so many train exhibits, in addition to the one he can actually ride.  There are things to make, things to climb, things to read.  I love looking at the vintage toys and dolls.  The exhibits always offer something new, stimulating and fun.  My daughter bought a membership and takes him there at... review »

The Strong Museum of Play is the best place we have discovered to go and play with our son.  There are tons of fun things to do and they are always changing the displays.  We live in a cold climate and we get a membership so it pays for itself in two trips.  We can go everyweekend if we want to in the winter and in the summer its great if its just to hot out to play.  Try and go during the weeek when the majority of kids are in school as it can get crowded on weekends and holidays.  Look for special perks if you becaome a member.

My family and I always have  a blast when we attend the Strong Musuem.  I have 3 boys, 10, 8 and 2 and we never feel llike there isn't something to do while we are there.  WE bring out of town guests as well regardsless of thier ages.  I love that they switch the exhibts every 3 months or so just so we can learn new things.  It is wonderful that there is Monroe County library located within and that the books are shelved accroding to the exhibit you are in!

Strong National Museum of Play is so fun!  They have changing exhibits and some things that are always there like the Sesame Street stoop, Big Bird's Nest, the mini Wegmans, the Butterfly garden and more!  I don't have kids and I go here every few months with a few friends because we always have a hilarious and awesome time.  There is so much to do here and nobody will notice or care if you are a grownup!

Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, New York by far has to be one of the best places to take children.  I would highly recommend getting a membership because once you step foot in the museum you and your children will want to keep coming back. This is of course if you live in the area.  If not, it's a great place to visit on vacation!  There are things to do for kids of all ages - train ride, merry go round, Sesame Street Neighborhood, Wegmans kids grocery store, history of toys....I could go on and on.  I brought my twin girls who were under one at the time and they loved it!  There are...
