Strayer University - SC —

Strayer did not work out well for me.  Hardly anybody there speaks English.  Their customer service attitude is terrible.  They don't return your email or phone calls until about the fifth time, but if it is time to be paid or register for new classes they will call you at home, or work.

The course work was well below a college level, barely high school material.  And the professors seem content to pass everybody without challenging them.

Overall I am very unsatisfied with Strayer Online and would not recommend to anybody.

Hi, you might believed that to be great in teaching but for the most part, they need training in corresponding with students. Most don't return emails, some don't speak English well and some are very anal when you submit any query to understand the material they place on you to learn. I have found over the two + years of going there to be somewhat beside myself on how when you first enroll you know who is your, financial rep, your advisor, your student support..etc"..but after a while you are passed along like yesterdays old student. I will say there were a few outstanding Professor's but in my experience it has been somewhat limited. I recently had a Professor, send A "F" grade down the the school when I had a "A"...really the mystery is its really a "B", during mid-terms and was told by my EX advisor, it wasn't a big deal, UMMMMM-EXCUSE ME? By the way his ENGLISH WAS TERRIBLE, THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE COURSE. I could go on AND ON with the experiences of Professors, but I would be on chapter 6 of my book.

Part two:you need to have knowledge (good luck with the school setting that up, well in course line-up) two courses to take his one, and one of the courses of requirement, I am not supposed to take. So, while I'm taking two tutoring classes to pass his, I am neglecting my other and currently, finding it hard to do his required assignments every week with a quiz every-week (not book related quiz, its for a course you need to learn prior-college ALGEBRA MAT 105) and reading, ITS OVER-KILL..Its got to the point that his assignments are really extreme for week two of learning new material. I will also, say you better have current work related exsperince and a military background, in EXCELL, SPREADSHEETS, MODELING, GRAPHING...the second week, is a 4-part assignment...WOWzzz...try doing that if your new to his course, they stick you in there for the money...SINK-OR SWIM..After this experience, this semester with STRAYER I will not be attending anymore courses, with them. To the poster who said here STRAYER is wonderful, THEY ARE freaking lying and I wouldn't be surprised if that person works there.

Hi, I agree. I've been going to Strayeronline for two years toooo long and they only care about MONEY, I can't begin to tell you how many times, I been railroaded by a few of the Professor's and faculty. YOUR RIGHT Some don't speak English, let alone write well ENGLISH in the course shell. I say on a scale of 1-10 on great experiences with solid Professors, who treat you well on correspondence and interaction it is a 4 out of 10.
If you have complaint, you have to go through hoops for someone to even listen to your concerns, I had this one Professor take down my post when I was corresponding with another classmate about the stuff pertaining to the assignment, we were only giving each other a peep talk, nothing out of line just casual subject matter, It was ridiculous! So over-the-top that I complained to a Dean (good luck getting them without a drawn out process) and the Dean sided with this anal Professor. This Professor, was taking words out of my fellow-classmates posts when responding to each other, I thought it was just so stupid seeing that we were all corresponding as adults. I have currently, a class; CIS 212 telling us to go seek help for tutors to pass his class, his material is so way over the top,

I have found the administrative support to be very timely. The curriculum meets the standards for regional accreditation, so your "high school material" fairytale doesn't wash. Regarding the quality of instructors in PA, their academic credentials include University of Khartoum, United States Air Force Academy, University of Tampa, Penn State, Temple, Villanova... and yes, Harvard.
