My husband and I stayed at this hotel for the second time in about two years.  While it's colorful, interesting, and has lots of in-house amenities (e.g., restaurants, shows), it was too far away from the action-packed strip.  If you're going to Las Vegas and you want a value for your money, the Stratosphere is the place to be.  However, if you're looking for action and access, you may consider paying a little more for your hotel stay.  Outside of the club located in the back of the lobby, the forgiving slot machines, the Stratosphere doesn't seem to have too much going on.

I can somewhat agree with DrMitch, except I have to add the following.
Although the price on line seems very resonable, you have to be suspisious at check in when you immediatly get charged a RESORT TAX FEE, and also charged for a FUN PACK that allows you to go upstairs ( to the upper part of the Strataphere). If a person/couple, come to Vegas to see a view of what Vegas looks like from a skyscraper, this would make a fun trip, but if you come to gamble and entertain in show and food, then this package, along with the resort tax ( that could be hidden into a check in price) is not a real good value. Remembering, as DrMItch stated in their comments, Stratasphere is out of the way and doesn't have much going on. Oh also, if you complain to the magament about any of these issues I have stated, or about the lack of friendly service, the magagement will send you an upgrade to a suite that can be used at a later visit. ( Should you dare to return to be ripped by the resort tax, fun pack charges and unfriendly service)
