This summer we were looking for a peaceful, secluded retreat within driving distance of Kansas City in a scenic area and we hit the jackpot when we found this place. This is a new facility with experienced staff. The director used to be in the hotel business and knows how to treat guests. She is also a published, respected psychologist who wanted to open a place in the mountains of Arkansas to train therapists and assist military veterans heal from the ravages of war. This place accomplishes all of this. If you want a simple, quiet retreat with no kids and to get away from it all, this place is for you. If you want to enjoy nature, hug a tree or climb a mountain, this place is for you. If you like off the beaten path but close enough to civilization you can still get a good meal and shop antique stores, this place is for you. Or, if you are seeking a place of solitude to overcome an emotional trauma, this place is also for you. The yurts are beautifully and comfortably maintained. They have a nice, comfortable bed, a shower/tub, washer/dryer, charcoal grill, hot tubs, decks with gorgous views and peace and quiet. It is also only about 30 minutes south of Fayetteville on a nice highway and easy to find. If you want to participate in the Institute, it's purely voluntary. The offer traditional Reiki, meditation, cognitive behavioral studies, qigong, tai chi, yoga, and diet & nutrition training. They will even provide a free overview of one or all of these services before you decide to sign up for any of them.
