Interesting but overrated and unbalanced.

Impressively thick head - small bubbles and hop oil make this head stick around for the duration. Clear but dark amber in color.

Nose is wet grassy hops.

First sip is a big mouthful of hops (big but not BIIG). There's malt in the middle but it cries out for help against the persistent hop characteristic....

From the label: "This is an aggressive beer. You probably won't like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth. We suggest that stick to safer and more familiar territory -- maybe something with a multi-million dollar ad campaign to convince you that it's made in a little brewery, or one that implies that its tasteless fizzy yellow beer will give you more sex appeal. Perhaps you think that mulit-million dollar ad campaigns make a beer taste better. Perhaps you are mouthing the words as you read this."

Stone Brewing from San Diego is always at its best when they're brewing IPAs --- and Arrogant Bastard is one of the most delightful IPAs in their lineup. It's definitely big. It's definitely strong. It's definitely flavorful, with loads, and loads, and loads of hops.

You experience the grapefruit scent of hops when you smell the beer. You feel its lusciously bitter flavor coat your tongue as you swirl it around in your mouth, and long after you swallow, you feel the soft tingle of hop bitterness lingering at the back of your throat. It's a beer that totally gets right the adage that an IPA brewer...

This was the first real beer that got me into craft brews.

A great beer, it pours out a nice dark caramel color with a great head It has a wonderful scent, not overly bitter at all, just a nice clean and crisp ale aroma. A wonderful taste as well, an excellent balance of malts and hops, leaning towards the former, with a nice, but not overpowering, hoppy aftertaste. Goes down fantastic for such a high ABV beer, and good in its comparison to all other ales. An excellent brew.

I love arrogant basstard, it is the best beer i have ever tasted. My fianc'e hates it that i drink it because now i cant drink cheep beer anymore.
