We were quite limited in our high chair options. Our tiny kitchen would simply not accomodate a regular sized plastic tray-style high chair. Enter the Stokke Tripp Trapp. Some main features (positive and negative):
-It sits at (and pushes under) our breakfast table. Yes, baby is eating right at the table. There is no tray. When she was younger we purchased a plastic place mat with a little trough for falling food and suction cups to stick to the table. They are sold at every Babies R Us and on Amazon. This solved the problem for us in the early stages. Now that she eats from a plate she's sitting with us at the table rather than off to the side at a separate chair, which is great.
-It's easy to clean. The design is so simple, there are no cracks or crevices for food to hide.
-She will use this chair for years. Not only is it very well built, but it adjusts to literally any size between 6 months and adult. Here is one negative - making the adjustment is kind of a pain and requires disassembling the chair with an allen wrench.
-It's pricey, as are the accessories. A baby rail must be purchased to use it from the earliest stages (we luckily borrowed one) and we also purchased pads. We never used the bottom pad since that was where food fell, however we've always used the back pad for comfort. It's too bad you can't buy it separately to save a few dollars.
