*SCRREEEECH!*
The girl in Sephora showing me around jumped and then laughed out loud.
* I JUST HAVE TO HAVE THIS!*
She continued to giggle as we looked at the different samples of STILA BARBIE SMUDGEPOTS. First there was Little Black Dress. Then Purple Pumps. Next to that Cobalt Clutch. And then another new one that had been recommended to me called Kitten. Gosh, so many pretty colors!
I was gazing longingly at the two splotches of glittering eyeliner on my hand. One was a brilliant purple and the other one was black with reddish purple glitter in it. The beautiful purple hued lights dancing off my hand was mezmerizing.
I continued to wander through the store bumping into people and displays while staring almost in a trance at the lovely colors dancing around my hand.
Finally I went up to the counter and asked one of the sales clerks to help me find these lovely eyeliners to purchase.
A few of the other sales associates came over and asked, "What IS that on your hand? It is GORGEOUS?"
I stopped for a moment. You know, the cosmetic world has used to many bizarre names and titles of their colors that all of a sudden my mind was a whirl with bits and pieces of all of the names at once. Finally, after thinking very hard, I came up with the name of the one that I wanted.
"Um, it is the one about the cat wearing the dress in high heels"
To which the entire staff fell over the counter laughing.
WHAT IS LITTLE BLACK DRESS LIKE?
Once they recovered from the hilarity, the helpful sales associate that got me to try the Barbie stuff in the first place went over to the display. Uh oh, all of them were gone except for LITTLE BLACK DRESS. Apparently they never took the testers down when they ran out of the purple color.
I decided that LITTLE BLACK DRESS was better than nothing, so I grabbed the box and ran to the counter with it.
LITTLE BLACK DRESS from the STILA BARBIE COLLECTION is a black gel liner with scads of violet red purple microglitter in it. It reflects the light beautifully and it looks so pretty on the eyes and skin. It comes in a little glass jar with a cool picture of Barbie's eye that closes and opens as you tilt the jar around.
For $20 there is 4g of product. (as compared to MAC Fluidlines which has 3g of product). The consistency is very smooth and light and spreadable.
PERFORMANCE
LITTLE BLACK DRESS from STILAs BARBIE SMUDGEPOT COLLECTION is a beautiful consistency to work with. With the MAC 242 brush I used it for a lovely base and it goes great with purple eyeshadow over it. (URBAN DECAYS FRIGID eyeshadow is a great combo).
I have also used the MAC 266 brush which is an angled liner brush LITTLE BLACK DRESS makes the perfect liner. It is very pretty.
I was so excited after I did my eyes up with LITTLE BLACK DRESS SMUDGEPOT. It looke perfect. Gosh, I just KNEW that I would get a lot of use out of this really exciting gel eyeliner.
And then it happened ...
One hour after I got done applying the liner, it was all over my face. The liner had crumbled all around my face and was almost gone!
OH NO!
I had the same exact problem with LOREAL HIP GEL LINERS.
I have tried several times to reapply but with the same results.
So, the* little cat with the dress in high heels* has to go back to Sephora as much as I wanted to keep it.
You can still find LITTLE BLACK DRESS SMUDGEPOT from STILA BARBIE COLLECTION at Sephora stores and online at stilacosmetics.com too. Maybe it will work for you.
