This is probably the best quality and longest lasting weed trimmer I've ever owned.  I bought this trimmer almost five years ago and it still fires up perfectly.  Compared to others, only the Craftsman convertible has the same optional features.  Very durable and simple to use.  Although I've never tuned it up (no need), I did replace the spark plug last summer along with a new fuel line.  This trimmer has never had issues idling or at running rpm.  I would suggest heavier line as you'll go through a lot of trimming line in heavy areas.  Light enough to carry around the yard without much effort.  One of the best features of this machine is the optional tool attachments.  I never had the need for a hedge attachment, but I use the optional pruner to trim branches.  Although not as good as a regular gas chainsaw, it still does the trick.  Stihl is arguable the best on the market and this trimmer will not dissapoint you.

I purchased the Stihl due to reviews that I saw online through Consumer Reports and reviews of friends.  Of the other reviews that said that it ate a lot of string...that's not the weedwackers fault.  Use quality line and it works fine.  It starts all the time and has enough power for even some of the harder tasks like edging.

I am impressd with the Stihl FS 85 Weedeater. It helps me control the fast growing grasses and weeds. The cutting blade attachement assists with keeping small tress and bushes under control. It is easy to start up, even for ladies. I gave it four stars. It would have earned five stars from me except the one problem I have with it is that the trimmer head is mostly plastic and I tend to break them for some reason.It would be better if it was made of metal of some type.
