This book brought out tears and cheers. It was so very easy to lose yourself in the pages of this book. I love a good thriller and a heart-grabbing love story and this was both all wrapped into one.

Made me think a lot about the "everyday intimacies" I share with my husband - the things that only the two of us could understand, that unspoken "lauguage" that years together develops.  It also made me consider the hidden terrors and hardships that people have encountered in their lives that perhaps they haven't shared with even closest friends...definitely provoked a lot of thought for me.

Liseys Story was a great book.  I still cant get the line out of my head " I need dingdongs for the freesias"  Chilling book but shows how true love can come back and conquer all.  Not just the true love between man and woman but between siblings.  I didnt want the book to end.  It keeps me wondering about Lisey and her sisters.

One of my favorite things about Stephen King is that he's not a purely formulaic writer. Each book is a complete surprise, a new, and different kind of pleasure. Lisey's Story is no exception.

Lisey has lost her beloved husband, Scott, and now, two years after the fact, has decided to face the painful task of sorting through his personal papers. This leads to a journey down memory lane for Lisey, and since we are along for the ride, we learn about Scott's horrifying childhood, the dynamics of their relationship, and the special healing place Scott went to in order to survive called "Boo'ya Moon."...

First, this book has a cover of vivid red with a shovel on the front.  I presumed from the beginning that it was about one of Kings tales.  Personally I preferred the scarey ones.  I wonder what happened to them.  I am waiting to get to see his new movie, hope it is a good one.

Anyway, back to the book.  Starts out with a trip to the college for this author of books.  His wife Lissey goes with him and someone tries to kill him.  It goes back and forth a lot from his horrifying childhood with his brother and father being possesed by some kind of possession, something they couldn't help,...

Lisey's Story was one of my all-time favorite King books.  I think there may be one or two I haven't read but, I doubt it.  The character development was, as always, outstanding.  I loved Lisey!  Her relationships with her crazy sister was warm and loving but, honest in it's frustrating nature.  Her relationship with her husband was deeply developed, when his death was described I teared up.  I believe that we all have an "imaginary" (it was a real place in this story) that we can go to heal our psyches and emotional wounds and I don't find it too hard to believe that some people just get...

This book was definitely one of Stephen King's best.  I was absolutely enthralled with the story and wanted to open it right back up and start over once I was finished.  I became attached to the characters and felt like I knew them.  I'm not a fan of romance or love stories and usually prefer horror or thriller books, but this had such a beautiful story that I was just touched.
