Stephanie Plum Series Review Summary

For those who like to take their fictional heroines with little "edge", Janet Evanovich has concocted the Stephanie Plum Series of novels. Plum is a bounty hunter from New Jersey who took the job just to pay the rent. Described as Dirty Harry meets Nancy Drew,, "We are invited into Plum's world in the 'Burg - full of crazy relatives, slick FTAs (Failure To Appears), and her sometimes sidekick Lula, an ex hooker who weighs about 300 pounds but dresses in size six spandex." Through 14 full-length novels, Evanovich never fails to entertain as Plum tackles life, cases and her crazy associates. As one reviewer noted, " This might not be considered classic literature, but if you want a good laugh and a little adventure read the Stephanie Plum series."

Not since Bridget Jones have I enjoyed a character in literature so much as Stephanie Plum. Janet Evanovich, a #1 New York Times Best Selling Author, has created a series of adventures led by Stephanie Plum, a bounty hunter from Trenton, New Jersey. Plum's only a successful bounty hunter by luck, she took the job just to pay the rent. Lucky for us readers, she's lasted 13 novels. We are invited into Plum's world in the 'Burg - full of crazy relatives, slick FTAs (Failure To Appears), and her sometimes sidekick Lula, an ex hooker who weighs about 300 pounds but dresses in size six spandex.

Janet Evanovich has the most amazing talent to make you crave more and more of her books and characters . . .

I have read all the books in the 'Plum' series so far and am now racing through the romance novels she published years ago {the LoveSwept series} . . .  all Stephanie Plum addicts should definitely check them out . . . same lovable 'Laugh Out Loud' characters and some mystery/suspense, but definitely less 'violence'  nobody is trying to blow up THEIR cars  ;o)

Her collabs are more than worth a look too, the 'Full' series as well as Metro Girl and Motor Mouth . . . .

I'm in awe for so...

Can't wait for her next book! I think I've read every book Evanovich has written. Her Stephanie Plum series is the best. I can't wait to read more of the escapades of Stephanie, Morelli & Ranger. Also curious about the next title in the series. For more details read some of the other reviews, I'd rather not repeat. Evanovich's other book are great too, some of her original books have been republished. This might not be considered classic literature, but if you want a good laugh and a little adventure read the Stephanie Plum series.

Once you start the Plum series, you are always waiting on the next.  Grandma Murzer is always into trouble just as Stephanie.  Once you meet Morelli and Ranger, it is hard to decide which one you like the best.  I love Rangemen and would love to see this book on the bigscreen.

"Babe" is the best word in the books!

The first Plum book didn't do so much for me. I'm glad I decided to give Stphanie Plum a second shot though because I have loved the rest so far (I am only on the 5th book right now). She is a straight forward, funny, human character. I could relate to her for the most part. Not for those with sensitive eyes (language can be a bit racy at times).

I'm not a big series reader but I have every book in the Stephanie Plum series and will continue to collect until it's finale...if ever.  Janet Evanovich is hilarious. There is just enough romance without it being too mushy.  but what makes it so entertaining is that it is so funny...like laugh at loud, 'make your family look at you weird wanting to know what's so funny' funny.  I highly recommend this series.  If not the whole series, at least read one (preferably the first).  You won't be disappointed.

If you love mystery, suspense and most of all comedy - you'll find it all here in the Stephanie Plum series.  Thank you, Janet Evanovich, for coming up with these quirky characters.  Can't wait for #14!!

Janet Evanovich's Stephanie plum series is amazing.  The characters are funny, sassy, and intriguing!  The story lines are hilarious.  These are the only books where I have been alone in the house (or in a crowded doctors office) laughing out loud with tears in my eyes (and occasionally rolling down my face!)! In a nutshell, Stephanie Plum is a bounty hunter who always finds herself in trouble. Thetwo men (Joe Morelli and Ranger)in her life always come to her rescue.  But she sure does kick butt!  Her friend Lula (a former 'ho), and her grandmother Mazur always play her side-kicks/ partners...

The Stephainie Plum Series-

My mother had started reading this series of books. She told me they were very comical, that they actually made you laugh out loud. I can be a skeptic, I thought, that's pretty hard to beleive. However, she was very persistent.  I can be a hard headed person, I admit. Well, eventually one day, I was so tired of hearing, "you just have to try these books" that instead of screaming, or feeling like ripping my hair out, I said okay, and took one home. Mom's are'nt always right, but in this case, she was VERY right!! The series is about a woman new in the bounty hunter...

The Stephanie Plum Series is one of the best series availableright now. It has the keep you on the edge of your seat mystery as well as the chick- lit romance. These novels have something for everyone. Then there are the characters that everyone can relate to Stephanie the bounty hunter that has no idea what she is doing. Then there is Lulu her over-sized sidekick that use to be a prostitute. Right there is a mix for something hilarious to happen. The whole series is just about the crazy situations that Stephanie gets her self into trying to get the bad guy so that she can pay her bills and eat....

She certainly paints a picture. I'm a native New Yorker who hated living in Jersey until I started reading these books. Janet Evanovich makes you want to be a Jersey girl with sand between your toes and maybe even make your hair a little bigger. With each of these books you find yourself salivating for the next. Their funny and so easy to visualize you actually find yourself thinking her characters are real. The Stephanie Plum series have been such a treat, almost as good as chocolate. Her books are funny and sexy. They have murder, mayhem, mystery and a gun-toting grandma like you've never seen....

I could write forever about this series. The books are wonderful. I would like for them to be longer and I feel left straving for more in the end. I can't wait for the next book to come out and hope that she never stops writing about Mrs. Plum! I wish she could have the books out faster! In these books, Stephiane is working as a bailbond man, and gets into the most trouble that one person could get into without dying. She is very lucky in that department. I would tell anyone to read these books if they were looking ofr something to read. I have become involved with this series and want... review »

I am completely addicted to this series and can't wait for new installments to be released.  You really feel like you know the characters.  Ranger, Joe, Lula and Grandma Mazur are wonderful supporting characters.  You can totally visualize each character with their quirks, like Stephanies mom who loves to cook and when stressed resorts to the bottle of booze in the cabinet. You feel torn between Joe Morelli & Ranger- How would you choose between these 2 enthralling men??? Stephanie is always getting herself in a bind and its wonderful fun reading how Janet decides to rescue her in each new book. ... review »

So, after walking past this series in Target many, many times, I finally found myself buying the first novel : "One for the money"... and I never looked back!

I announced to my husband that I was taking a couple of weeks off and promptly purchased all 13 books!  I still have them and re-read them often!  They are fantastic!  I can totally feel her men dilemma as you can feel the love for Joe... but Ranger.... oh my, oh my.... Ranger.... *swoon*

You just have to go read them!  Fun, fantastic, can't put them down.   When is the next one coming out?!??
