Kids Love this Sandbox

This is a great sandbox for your kids or grandkids. We bought this sandbox as it was relatively inexpensive and I also like the fact that it has a lid to cover it when you are not using it. It holds about four fifty pound bags of play sand. It is very heavy duty and well made and my grandchildren love playing in this. I really like the lid feature so when they are not around I can keep it covered to keep out random cats and keep the sand clean . You can also use the lid to keep the sand from getting hot in the summer while they take a break from playing in the sandbox. They have a blast in this. It is big enough for two larger children or two smaller ones to play in at a time. My only downfall is that I wish it was a bit bigger but I would still recommend it to anyone. It is perfect for one child! It is a nice size for a smaller backyard or if you want to keep it on a deck or patio. Your kids and grandkids will spend hours playing in this sandbox, it is worth the price!

Perfect size sandbox with cover

5

Perfect size for toddlers and won't take up a large area if you have a small back yard. It has a nice neat appearance to go with any outside decor. Has a nice cover to keep neighborhood animals out of it and to keep it dry in bad weather. A tough, inexpensive overall great piece for any childs outside play area.

Fantastic for toddlers

So by this point my son has outgrown this sandbox at this point in his life but we still keep it around for younger kids and the child I nanny for to play in. I originally bought this one because it looked a little less cheesy and a little more well made than a lot of the sandboxes out there. It kind of reminds me of a sandcastle with it's design, which is really adorable and original. and I was actually really surprised by how big it was, from the picture it looks like you can only fit one kid in there but it's actually spacious enough for two or three small children. The only real downside to this is that the cover on it isn't quite as sturdy as the rest of it and over the years has acquired quite a few dents that I can't get out. It still closes and seals fine but it's not quite as aesthetically pleasing as it was when I first got it. Overall though, it's sturdy, cute and relatively inexpensive.

Pros and Cons

3

I like this sandbox and I also don't like this sandbox. I will begin with the pros. I like that it is cute. It actually looks nice sitting next to the swing set out side in the back yard. I like that it has a cover. If you have ever owned a sandbox, you know the importance of keeping it covered (to keep out the cats, especially!). I like that it doesn't hold a ton of sand so it is easy to empty and move if necessary. Now, with that being said, there are also a few things that I really do not like about this sandbox. The major things I do not like is the price. I realized after we purchased it and put it all together that we could have built a sandbox (an even larger sandbox) for cheaper than we purchased this one for. This may not be an issue for some people because they prefer not having to build their own, but for me I feel like this could have been sold at a better price. The other thing I do not like about this sandbox is that it is so small. I feel like my son is going to outgrow it very quickly because he is already almost too big to fit in it comfortably with all of his toys and he is only 3. If you are looking for a sandbox that is small, stylish, and you don't mind paying extra cash for it, then this is the sandbox for you!

Kitty cat! Don't come back!

I don't know what it is about small children and sand boxes that heighten euphoria but I was not immediately on board about this whole sand box purchasing adventure! I had heard rumors about children catching ringworm from playing in sand! After researching the topic a bit, I decided to give it a go. The first thing to know about this sand box is that it isn't too roomy. It is big enough for 2 or maybe 3 toddlers though. My son loved it and wanted to play in it all the time. You probably should purchase sand box accessories but play doe accessories like the small molds work just as well and make sand box play a bit more interesting. This sand box takes about four fifty pound bags of sand but to tell you the truth, three bags would suffice just as well. The lid that comes with the box is pretty good at keeping animals and other stuff out of the box however, if it rains really hard some of the rain will somehow seep in even if the lid is closed well. If you or your neighbor has a cat - watch out! Cat's tend to regard the sand box as an easily accessible litter box. Which can obviously be problematic. Be careful to keep it sealed whenever it is not in use. Also, children - well my children seemed to grow out of it rather quickly. Plan on having some storage space or place a resale ad.

Great sand box for kids

5

This sand box has been around for six almost seven years and it is still in good shape. We love it. It says it takes two to four bags of sand, the one pound bags, but it can hold up to five bags. The more sand the better is what we say. It is perfect for a two or three year old. Older kids can still play in it they just sit outside of it and dig or build castles. The one year we accidentally caved in the cover but we got it to pop back out and it never cracked or anything. It sits outside all winter long and even with all the snow we get it has held up and every summer it is still usable. The plastic material seems very sturdy. We like that it looks like a pyramid or something you would find in the desert. Not only does it hold a lot of sand but it holds a lot of sand toys as well. In fact during the summer we store all the sand toys in it every night that way the next day you just lift the lid and you're ready to play.

Step 2 Naturally Playful Sand Box

I was looking for something that would be self contained and easy for little ones to play in. I was very happy when I found the Step 2 Naturally Playful Sand Box. The big plus is that there is no assembly required. Another great plus is the lid that fits on top to keep the sand covered when the children are not playing in it. This keeps the rain out of the sand area and keeps the wind from blowing the sand out of the sandbox. It also keeps animals out of it so it can't be used as their litter box. The children loved playing in the sandbox so much that I purchased a second one to use indoors. Instead of putting sand in it though, I purchased small plastic balls and other assorted plastic blocks and put in the sand box. It works perfectly for an indoor teaching tool while the children are sitting inside the sandbox stacking blocks and playing with the balls. This item is very sturdy and well worth the investment.

Great way to play outside

5

My toddler loves playing in this sand box! This sandbox is incredibly sturdy and I was impressed with the high quality. There is a heavy duty lid that protects the inside of the sandbox, so my son can not drag anything outside the sandbox that does not belong there. The lid also protects the inside from rain and the other elements of weather. It rains a lot where I live, so I was happy and relieved to find that the sandbox was unharmed after storm. I like that there are four seats on the inside of the sandbox, and my son loves to play with his toddler friends in it! Parents will love that there is no set up required, and it definitely saved me a headache! The sandbox is not limited to a pretend beach, and it can also be used as a flower garden. I have not used it as such, but I could see this as an interest way to teach children how to plant crops. I think this will make a wonderful addition to any family that wants the kids outside!

Great toy!

I could have gone and purchased the classic turtle sandbox with lid, but this one looks so much nicer. I have four children, so we owned many Step2 products. Step2 is a brand that I have learned to trust. I have not been disappointed with any of their products. So, a few summers ago I purchased this Step2 Naturally Playful Sandbox for my two daughters. We already owned the matching picnic table, so this went right with it. They look great together in the yard. Not tacky, like some of the other colorful outdoor toys. I don't want my yard looking like a day care center. The fact that it has a lid was a major selling point. We live in the woods and there are many animals around. I don't want my children playing in their poo when the animals decide to use the sandbox as a letterbox. A lid was a must. The only thing that I cannot stand about all of these outdoor toys, is the fact that they get filled with water. I don't know why they just can't be made with the drainage holes. Obviously they are outdoor toys, and they will be exposed to rain.

Cute sandbox for the kids

5

This sandbox has been a great outdoor activity for my child. The lid keeps the sand cool and dry, and no problems of bugs crawling in it. Also don't have to worry when the snow comes and the and getting ruined. I like how it blends in without sticking out. Our neighbor has one too in their side yard and you can hardly tell it's a sandbox. The size is nice but doesn't hold room for a lot of kids or for the bigger ones. But it is great for a sandbox and it doesn't get too hot from the sun. It also hasnt faded any and hasn't started to crack or become brittle, as some plastic things are susceptible to doing. I do try to keep it in a shady spot in our backyard so my son gets as much playing time as possible without the sun on him, but the sun does hit it from time to time. The only thing I'd like better is if it had an attachment to help block the sun, so i didn't have to worry about where to put it, as we don't have many trees.
