Nice idea, but buy a different table!

2

I was beyond excited to pull out the Step 2 Arctic Splash Water table this spring. This was a Christmas gift for our 1 year old and I had high hopes of kids playing with this water table during many summer barbecues. Pros: Overall, the water table is a great idea and my son really enjoyed playing IN/ON the table (he's a climber). The table is a great height for little ones and all of his little playmates enjoyed the idea of a table full of water. CONS: What is not so great about this particular water table is that the toy slide does not snap in place. It comes apart way too easily. None of the parts for this toy snap in place, actually, so after 2 minutes of playing with the table, all of the pieces are scattered on the floor/yard/deck, and you are left with just the water in the table.  We have lost all but one part for this table. I have since done more research and there are plenty of great water tables on the market that have parts that snap in place. I'd buy one of those!

My kids are 14 months apart, so when I was pregnant with my second I got this table for my son so that he could play in the water and I wouldn't have to get wet since I'd have just had a baby. What a great purchase this ended up being. He loved playing in the water! We got some cheap cups and he had a ball dumping water from one cup to the next. Last summer both of my kids were able to play at it and they were able to play together. It's small enough that it doesn't take a ton of water (we try to not be wasteful of resources) but big enough for 2 kids to easily play. When we were done playing we'd usually use the water to water flowers. I found a cheap grill cover that I use to cover it and we leave it on our deck. At the beginning of the summer I use some bleach to clean the table and all the toys and it stays clean. It is really inexpensive for all the use we have got out of it. I've even thought of getting another one to put sand in one. I like that it's elevated, so it's a great height for toddlers.

Artic Splash Table A Splash

I bought this splash table for my three year-old grandson last summer. I was not sure which table to purchase so I went with this one since it was on sale. What a splash! My grandson is known for not sticking with one toy for any length of time. He is just too busy! But I have to say this one was a hit. He played with it for hours each Saturday when he came over through the summer. I opted to only use water in it for the yard though you can put sand in instead or both sand and water. The only complaint I have is that the loose toys come off easily. They can be super glued down though. When the weather turned cold, I brought it inside and filled it with colored sand. I now have another grandson, added to the family last October. I am sure he will follow his brother's footsteps and love the Splash Table too.

Lots of fun splashing on hot days!

I purchased this water table when my daughter was around 14 months old.  She was able to stand walk independently at this point.  The table legs were quickly and easily snapped on. Throughout the entire summer, this table was a tremendous hit!  She loves splashing around in it!  It is perfect for the hot days when you can't get to the pool.  Every time we went outside she ran straight for this table. The only drawback about this table is the arctic mountain.  It was hard for her to manipulate and the penguin is not interesting to her. The mountain seems to be a bit unstable so we just removed it completely.  Maybe when she is older this feature will be more useful.  The manufacturer does state the ages recommended are 2+.  This table also should be emptied daily as it can get slimy if left full. With the addition of a few measuring cups, this toy kept my daughter busy for hours over the hot summer.  I highly recommend this table to moms and dads with toddlers.

lots of fun on a hot day

We bought the water table in early summer for my 2 1/2 year old daughter.  This was very easy to assemble and is the perfect height.   It was played with almost daily during the summer months.  We actually have to hide it when its chilly outside.  What surprised me is that even the older children 5-6 years old were playing with and seemed quite entertained.   I usually put just water in it but have also made goop (corn starch and water), some slime, dried beans, dried pasta, or uncooked rice in it with measuring cups and spoons.  I have filled it with large wooden beads and some string to string the beads.  The possiblities of things to put inside of it is really endless.  This toy is always outside because of the mess with most of the items I have put inside it.  When there's water it in, everything surrounding it usually gets wet.  When something else is in it, it usually ends up kind of everywhere.  So we have put it away until spring.  I would definately recommend this toy.

Hours of fun!

We bought this table for our 1 year old son's birthday.  It was a really great purchase for us.  It is a great summer toy to have for a little one.  He was able to play in here and still managed to get wet.  The toys it comes with are great except the igloo part is three pieces and they just sit atop one another and seem to come off quite easliy when bumped.  Also one of the squirter toys does not fit in it to go down the slide.  We purchased other small bath toys to play with and our son had a blast all summer with it.  Even the older kids would play with it!  It's very durable and the legs are very sturdy and it's a very safe toy.  It is at a perfect height for a smaller child to get his hands in and play with.  We also love that there are two different areas to play.  The bottom and the top.  The upper part connects with a fun slide down to the bottom part which holds more water.  We love this toy!

This water table is great!

I bought this as a second birthday present and we love it already. We have only had it a week. The little animals that come with it, a polar bear, dolphin, and walrus are adorable. My kids love them. They are little water squirters too. It is very durable table and provides lots of fun for the little ones. It is easy to dump the water out when they are done playing with it and very light to move around. I have read reviews about the difficulty of draining the larger tables. It doesn't have a drain plug and it really doesn't need one. In my opinion, it's one less thing for my kids to mess with. I would say that the only downside is that all of the animals can't fit down the water slide. My kids don't seem to mind, but maybe other kids will. Overall, it's great and I will be buying another one for my nephew very soon.

The Step 2 Arctic Splash Water Table is indoor AND outdoor fun!

We bought the Arctic Splash Water Table from Step 2 for my third child for his first birthday.  It was very easy to put together (no tools required).  It has vibrant colors and a cute underwater theme.  The day of the party it wasn't warm enough to use outside, so he played with it inside without any water in it and loved it!  My four and a half-year-old daughter and her three-year-old friend also had a ball playing with it.  It comes with several squirting toys and they also put other toys in it to play with.  It is the perfect heighth for my one-year-old who isn't walking but can hold onto it or cruise around it to play.  The only drawback is that the icebergs that stack on it do not snap in place so they have a tendency to fall off of the table and the kids can't get them back in place.  I'm planning to put water in it and use it outside this summer and bring it in on rainy days to use inside with toys.
