State Farm Review

State Farm Car insurance can be amazing and horrible depending on what you need from them. If I ever have a question about my coverage or want to make a change, my local office is always very helpful and friendly and gets back to me immediately. 

However when I was in a car accident, it took them one full week to send someone out to appraise the car, then it took another week to "upload the appraisal data" into their system, and finally another week to determine the car was "totaled." They pretty much advised me that if I had rental coverage, the entire process would have been faster, but because I did not have that coverage they felt the need to take their time. 

They totaled the car, although the percentage of damage to value that is typically used for totaling was not satisfied. They attempted to then give me $2000 less than what the value of the car was. When I asked them what my options were, they told me I had no options and had to take their payment.

Also, on subsequent occasion, they will direct debit my payment from an old checking account, even though I updated my account info with them numerous times. And if I call to get the total amount of my current policy, they don't have that information, they apparently just charge me whatever per month they want to. 

And they increased my rates drastically even though it was my first accident ever. 

And they let a bill from the State for damages during my accident pass to the point the State was going to put a warrant out for my arrest or suspend my drivers license, because they didn't want to pay the State (for a small section of chain link fence) in a timely fashion.
