Startsampling.com —
As soon as Startsampling.com hit the web waves, I was a member. It's fun for awhile, but then my interest wans, and I won't visit the site for 3 or 4 months. I've seen a lot of changes, but they all end up at the same place. It takes forever for the offers to change.Free stuff: I have rec'd a lot of samples from this site, but many times I've waited and waited only to forget what I was waiting for.
Tryer miles: It takes forever to build up points. Sometimes the points disappear for no apparant reason. Other times the offers never change, so it can be weeks before you get to do something other than log-in. But what is much WORSE, is they NEVER, EVER have what I want. I don't want a ballcap. What I want chronically has a red light next to it. WHY????
The fun of it: OK. Since you reminded me that I've been a member for a zillion years (since was it before 2000?), I'll pick it back up and have a lot of fun for a while. It is fun, until you get stuck, or you can never get the reward you want. The site has expanded A LOT since the beginning, so now there is something for everyone - a little less for me since I no longer have kids at home, but so what? I still get a kick out of the stop light, even if I see more red ones than green.
The contests: I love the contests, and now there are 4. You know, in all the years I've tried and tried to get the right answer, and I know I've gotten it right a lot, I have NEVER been one of the 10 randomly selected winners! But then, I have never won the lottery, either.
It has been a roller coaster ride. Do I recommend the site? A resounding YES, especially with the updated format and expanded everything. I am proud to say that I've seen it from the very beginning when it had great expectations but only a few pages. Now it is big, bold and it takes a while to catch up with everything. Yes, it is well worth looking at the site to see if it is worth it to you to visit frequently.
