They're Everywhere, and Predictably Good
I normally like to support independent businesses and will when I can. But since I'm in Miami right now, online and writing this review from one of America's convenient Starbucks locations, I thought it was appropriate to send them a shout out.
Starbucks sells every coffee combination imaginable - hot and cold, with all the java-related nouns and adjectives in the universe attached. There's another language going on in this place, and with enough money in the pocket, anyone can speak it. It's not an inexpensive hobby, to be a Starbucks junkie. I'm a hot tea drinker so all I have to say is Awake, even though they have a dozen ways of making tea as well.
I like the music that plays in the shops (and is for sale). I like the accessories, although I've never bought any. I like the guarantee of internet access - although I am presently paying for it, via T-Mobile Hot Spot and DON'T like that. Most indies will give it to you for free.
However, it's nice to know that in a jam, or a drought, I can pull in, order a drink I know will be good, splurge on a snack if I want, get online, do my thing, and move on. Starbucks has become a major part of the American landscape, and I don't see them going anywhere soon!
