I am not a big fan of coffee, and when I turn to it, my coffee either needs to be iced, or in the form of ice cream. It's not that I don't don't enjoy my caffeine pick-me-up, it's just that I favor a Diet Pepsi most of the time. Recently though, I have turned to the Starbucks Frappuccino Coffee Drink several times in order to get that quick (and lasting) caffeine kick. I am a new parent, and with that has come a number of late nights that remind me a lot of the days when I was in college. Because of that, I often need something to get me going in the mornings or hold me over during a long day of work; enter the Starbucks Frappuccino Coffee Drink.
The current one sitting on my desk is a 13.7 ounce bottle that contains the coffee drink. They also sell them in a smaller sized bottle, with both sizes sold in four-packs at most grocery stores. They also always tend to sell them as singles in the refrigerated drink aisle of those stores, as well as just about every gas station around here. The drink isn't anything fancy, but rather a prepared coffee drink that claims to be a lowfat creamy blend of Starbucks coffee and milk. Nothing more, nothing less, and it gives that needed kick of caffeine when you need that jolt to get the day running on a second gear.
Now I find the Starbucks Frappuccino Coffee Drink to be pretty tasty, and it is very easy to drink these bottles in a matter of minutes. Maybe I enjoy them because they don't really taste like coffee, but rather flavored milk and sugar with a lot of caffeine tossed in for good measure. I could easily see an avid coffee drinker turning up their nose to this drink, but the appeal to me is that it doesn't have the bitter taste of most coffees. It provides that caffeine kick on the odd day where I need it, it's quite affordable at around $2.00 for the 13.7 ounce (around $5.99 for 4-pack), and it's easy to finish it off. I recommend this as an option to people that like their Starbucks coffee in a light fashion, but look out for the calories if you are counting (340 in the 13.7 ounce bottle). Otherwise it can serve as a good morning start.
