Star Trek —

Directed by J.J Abrams, director of Mission: Impossible III, as well as the executive producer of a few "Lost" episodes, the latest Star Trek installment goes back to the story lines of the original characters in an action-packed, fun-filled adventure in a prequel of it's own. Starring Chris Pine (Just My Luck, Princess Diaries 2) as Captain Kirk, Zachary Quinto as young Spock who plays the role, made famous by Leonard Nimoy, well. Karl Urban and Simon Pegg do pretty right on impressions of McCoy and Scotty, made famous by DeForest Kelley and James Doohan. John Cho (Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle) plays hand combatting, handsome Sulu. Anton Yelchin does an incredibly uncanny rendition of Pelvil Chekov and Zoe Saldana plays the young, intelligent and sexy Uhura. With the big surprise of Leonard Nimoy, rounding out the cast. Tyler Perry fans: He's in it too!

In the words of Wubbzy, "Wow! Wow! Wow!" And I mean WOW! As a Star Trek fan, I was expecting a lot, very critical; Star Trek DELIVERED! The prequel story line was very well thought out and detailed. It was actioned packed from the very second it started all the way to the end. There was quite a few comedic bits that rounded the story real well. The addition of Leonard Nimoy was an awesome and well thought out surprise. Every actor was excellent in their roles.

Chris Pine really pulled off the ambitious, order-ignoring, James T. Kirk with great sexiness! Anton Yelchin's right-on accent of Chekov was excellent, EXCELLENT! Simon Pegg portrayed Scotty awesomely, hilarious. John Cho as Sulu didn't necessarily play him as George Takkei initially did, but I liked the more built, rugged and sexy portrayal Cho gave to Sulu, breathed the character new life! McCoy, played by Karl Urban, was played similarly to the way Kelley did and Urban is a nice piece of eye candy for the ladies!

A warning for young families: It does a few swear words in it, but it was Mother's Day and this was a gift from my husband and son, so my 5 year old went and he LOVED it! I have a another generation Trekkie on my hands now!

The latest installment is the BEST Star Trek yet. The film was so good, the audience I sat in with clapped when the film was over! Star Trek is the Best action and sci-fi film I've seen in years! The best action film probably since the last Pirates of the Caribbean at least. Heck, I'm going to say it! This Star Trek topples The Wrath of Khan!

Even if you're not a fan of the franchise, this Star Trek will excite you. It really breathes new life into the whole series.

It even looks like there could be another one in the future!!! . . . And in researching, I've found out a sequel is due out in 2011! YAY!

Wait a second, I need to check this out, cause I thought Abrams did it, but thanks for the corrections!

Ok, I hate you all! No Trekie fan like me should have to wait this long to see the movie and if I see one more review I will scream but I can't help myself. I just keep reading them! LOL

Um. good review, but I think Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg will probably be wondering when J.J. Abrams was involved in the making of Transformers.
