Comments about Stanley Tools 12 in 1 MULTI-TOOL:

Our friend Adrian gave my husband Pal a *Leatherman* Combo Pack at Christmastime.  (Please see: [www.viewpoints.com/Leatherman-FREESTYLE-amp-MONARCH-300-Combo-Pack-review-4f1216][1] )

Now, Pal's on a tear.  During our recent trip to *OSH*, he discovered the **Stanley 12 in 1 Multi-Tool** on sale for roughly half price.  Ten bucks and a good look at the package immediately convinced him that this was another multi-tool he just had to have.  These tools were, he pointed out, *bigger* than the ones in/on his other multi-tool set.  (This set, like the other, is stainless steel construction.)

The **Stanley Multi-Tool (84-519) **is made in China while the *Leatherman Combo Pack* is a product of the USA.  That and the *Leatherman* price signal a better pedigree to me, but Pal believes that **Stanley** opts for good production quality.  **Stanley Tools**, also, has a name and longtime record to uphold.

The **Multi-Tool** device begins as husky *Long Nose Pliers* with a *Wire cutter.  S*tretch its parts out (as per the picture to the right) and you'll find a *Saw, Medium slotted screwdriver, Small knife, Can opener, Curve jaw pliers, Large slotted scewdriver, File, Large knife, Phillips screwdriver, *and a* Small slotted screwdriver.*  Some of the tools took effort to dislodge, but Pal says they'll ease up as they're used.  I, for one, would have had trouble accessing them the first time.

The whole kit-n-kaboodle comes with a pouch including a belt clip big enough to accommodate a two-inch belt.  I doubt Pal will use the pouch, but I *know* he'll find opportunities to use this gadget and enjoy it.

File this idea for the next birthday or holiday!
