Stamps.com Review Summary

If you're willing to pay premium prices and wait a while for your order, Stamps.com makes vibrant personalized stamps for any occasion (or no occasion at all). Our reviewers loved the stamps but weren't thrilled with the somewhat high price of personalization and the long wait to get their stamps for the holidays. Still, if you really want to spice up your letters or cards, this site can do that for you with the help of your uploaded photos. Stamps.com has given my family the opportunity to send photos on stamps all across the world.  We have friends in Peru, Northern Ireland and elsewhere.  The ability to be creative with US Postage stamps is an added feature to being in touch with others.

The self-adhesive, look and being unique is a...

Somehow last year I managed to "get it together" enough to actually purchase, write out and mail holiday cards out to our family and friends. For me, this was a huge accomplishment. I wanted to send the cards with a personalized stamp, rather than the typical holiday offerings you might find at the post... review »

Stamps.com is a great service - but only if you use a LOT of postage and make many trips to the post office. For the average person, you should just buy your stamps at the post office or grocery store. However, for the small business owner who has a lot of things to mail, the monthly fee might actually be what you would otherwise spend on gas and the value of your time for trips to the post office. In addition to the monthly service fee, you also have to invest in printer ink (which, as they point out, is cheaper than postage meter ink) and labels, which you can purchase at an office supply... review »

The law firm that I work for reassessed some of our costs last year. One of the biggest surprises was how much time we spent dealing with postage and mail. Our clerks used to hoard certified mail forms that they took from USPS, spend time filling them out for about 100 pieces of mail and then driving them over to USPS. It still took up an extra hour a day that they could have been spending doing other things. After some trial and error in reassigning certified mail duties, our firm started researching postage meters that could print certified mail. In January, we  signed-up for Stamps.com,...

I signed up with Stamps.com five months ago after my custom costume business took off. Although most of my orders were shipping out domestically, an increase in orders from the UK and Japan made me rethink my shipping options.

I chose Stamps.com online postage because it lets me print First-Class International postage, unlike Paypal, which I was using before since most of my sales come from Ebay. I really like to be able to print all of my postage at once rather than take individual packages to the post office (it really saves time). In addition to First-Class International, Stamps.com also can...

I am usually willing to try a "free" offer, knowing that I have to review the small print to know how to avoid charges I don't want to pay, but this offer was obviously carefully crafted to make it difficult to see what would be happening.  I had two $15.99 charges on my credit card bill before I realized they were going to continue charging me for a service I never even used.  Now after reading the Terms and Conditions to find out how to cancel the service I find they'll charge me AGAIN for the "final month!"

The things they offer up front are fairly attractive--free stamps, a postage meter,...

It's great to be able to upload your own photos or select from the on-line gallery to create unique postage stamps.  But they are little pricey so be prepared to pay at least twice what you would with USPS. If you upload your own photos, make sure they are good quality because everyone you send this too will see them.  I also wonder if the recipients actually look at the stamps.  I know I do, so hopefully they do too.  This year I purchased a sheet of LSU Tigers stamps for a friend/relative who is also an LSU alumnus and will get her reaction when she gets these for Christmas.

I really loved these stamps. Although they were more expensive than regular postage, I thought that it was worth it. We've used these for our Valentine's Day cards, Christmas cards, birth announcements and birthday party invitations. We got ours quicker than what they had said we would. The quality was very nice. Friends and family were surprised and elated to have that extra special touch on the mail that we sent them using these stamps. You can order them through websites such as mypoints.com and at least be getting points towards free gift cards when you order them.

My experience with Stamps.com reminded me of the old time 'barkers' at the fair. They lure you in with promises of a free months' service and free postage, good luck getting either. It took a month of complaining to customer service for me to get just half of the promised postage, after that I decided to give up and cancel the service. At this point I was told that my credit card would be billed 15.99 for a third time.... thus eliminating the "free month" of service they promised. My advice, avoid Stamps.com like the plague!

I used it, as a trial and found it simply useful and very convenient.  The 'MAKE YOUR OWN STAMPS' feature is the best part.

Overall, if you are into any business or atleast have an home office, I think you should try - you will love it.

I personally recommend, go for the trail offer, its free and also you get to keep $25.00 worth of stamps, which you print at home.  Make sure that you print a draft copy before printing the original ones.

Stamps.com is a good and easy to use software. With the advantage of elminating the walk to the postal office and waiting on a long line. Stamps.com also has cheaper price for delivery confirmation. Overall, the service is great except you cant pay as you go, that's the only downside for me at least.

This is one of the best ways to personalize your stamps AND be able to show off something special that you'd like to share with your friends.   NOT however a stamp that I'd place on a bill that I was paying....  I've enjoyed this service for well over a year now....LOVE it.

Stamps.com did not work on my computer. Before my 4 week free trial was over I canceled my subscription. Stamps.com still charged my credit card. The only way I stopped the charges was by canceling my credit card.
