Stamps.com Review

I signed up with Stamps.com five months ago after my custom costume business took off. Although most of my orders were shipping out domestically, an increase in orders from the UK and Japan made me rethink my shipping options.

I chose Stamps.com online postage because it lets me print First-Class International postage, unlike Paypal, which I was using before since most of my sales come from Ebay. I really like to be able to print all of my postage at once rather than take individual packages to the post office (it really saves time). In addition to First-Class International, Stamps.com also can print postage for Priority Mail International and Express Mail International. My customers enjoy choosing their shipping, and Stamps.com lets me help them do this. The software also lets you print customs forms.

Additionally, Stamps.com offers shipping discounts that USPS the post office and Paypal don't. Domestically, I save up to 11 percent on Priority Mail, 5 percent on Express Mail and between 5 and 8 percent on international shipping rates. For my more expensive costumes, I insist that my customers pay for insurance. I've been able to lower my rates because Stamps.com gives a 10 percent discount on postage insurance.

I've enjoyed using Stamps.com overall. Despite a printer configuration issue at the start, which customer service helped me through, the transition from Paypal to Stamps.com has been smooth.
